My Loved One

Ivan rarely calls him Alexander, only on rare occasions mostly when he's pissed. Xander had told Ivan to stop calling him Alexander, but Ivan always replied by saying that his name, Xander was 'too short'.

"Brother Ivan, it's a surprise seeing you here-"

"My sister just got married and you expect me to stay at home? It's odd that all my sister's attention diverted to you, isn't it?" Xander almost forgot that they were in the middle of a dinner party before he started creating a scene in front of everyone.

Ivan stepped dangerously close to Xander and Xander subconsciously held his breath. "Why did you call her low class," if one hadn't looked closely they wouldn't have noticed that Ivan had clenched his jaw out of the anger he was trying to hold in.

"I'm sorry, it's just that she insulted brother Henry's class by offering him money for the damage she caused. She's the one that started this whole mess," Xander almost whined like a child pointing toward Mia.

"The next time you cause any trouble for any of my friends especially my loved one I won't take it easy on you, you get it?" Ivan draped his hand over Mia's shoulder and pulled her closer. She got a very strong whiff of his enticing cologne, she loved it so much, and seemed to put her at ease.

"I'm sorry again... and sorry brother Henry for creating a scene. I know that after now, you're going to give me the scolding of my life, but I'm still sorry," Xander walked back to his seat and sat down, while the silver-haired man, whose name was Henry looked at the almost intimate position of Ivan and Mia before he went to the bathroom to get cleaned up.

Mia felt some kind of heaviness in her heart. She appreciated the fact that Ivan supported her but the fact that he called her a friend just awoke the feelings she had been trying to hide over the years. Then her mind went back to when she first saw Ivan.

Mia was the most popular girl in high school because she was extremely beautiful and her acting skills were simply impeccable. She always participated in one play or the other. She was truly a queen.

But one day, there was a transfer student. She really didn't care as she was a social butterfly who didn't take note of such minor things. But once the transfer student came in all heads turned, Mia couldn't help but look at the person who suddenly dragged her clique's attention from her and her eyes almost bulged out of their sockets.

Days passed and she couldn't help but feel disturbed by how her attention was slowly diverting from her to a transfer student!

Ever since Ivy became a transfer student in her high school, no one dared to mess with Ivy because of the mysterious power held within her.

Mia didn't like Ivy because her friends weren't giving her the desired attention she deserved. But it didn't escape her notice that a very extremely handsome young guy, who had the same striking emerald green eyes as Ivy and was probably in his first year of college came to pick her up after school hours.

So she stayed hidden at a spot close to where he usually waits for Ivy to come out, just to admire the charming model standing outside her school. Which was very odd for her as she was the school queen so to say. If anyone caught her it'll ruin her reputation, she was aware of that but still took the risk. She wasn't the only one, though, there was always a crew of girls flocking outside just to catch a glimpse of the eye candy standing outside the school.

Initially, Mia didn't have a thing for guys even when the hottest guys at school asked her out she always turned them down, but something was different about this one, she figured that if she wanted to get close to him she had to take her chances and befriend Ivy.

And as daring and crazy as Mia was, she didn't let that opportunity go. After a few weeks of summoning courage, she finally spoke to Ivy during recess.

"Hi, I'm Mia," she stretched her hand outward for a handshake but Ivy didn't spare her a glance, her head was still buried in her book. She retracted her hand and drew in a sharp breath, "Nice to meet you. You have very pretty eyes," Ivy managed to take a glance at her before returning her focus to her book. Mia helped herself to a chair on the other side of the table.

"Can I help you?" Ivy finally spoke with her head stuck in her book.

Mia laughed nervously, "Actually..." she scratched her hair lightly, "I'm here to help you."

Ivy finally looked at her with an arched brow. "Uh...uhm I mean you're a transfer student and I can help you around."

"No I'm good," her head was back to that book again?!

Mia looked at the title of the book. 'The revolution of science',

She didn't know how it happened but they soon started talking just because of the book. Mia could swear that the book was a lifesaver!

Though she was fidgeting most of the time because Ivy always had a way of looking at someone as if reading through their soul, she found out that Ivy wasn't as cold as she seemed to be.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into a month. Ivy was excited to show Ivan her best friend and Mia thought that this could be her chance. Ivy introduced Mia to Ivan and Ivan looked very happy.

"What's your name lil one?" he asked her with a very charming smile.

"Ah... umm... my," Mia cleared her throat. 'This is the moment you've been waiting for, get a hold of yourself, jeez!' she scolded herself inwardly. Ivan arched his brow in confusion at her response.

'Oh great, now his first impression of you is that you're mentally unstable,' she almost smacked her head but Ivy turned to her and asked. "What's wrong with you?"

"Uh... nothing. Well, my name is Song Meifeng. But people usually call... me Mia. So you... can call me Mia," she spoke so fast, if not that Ivan was a sharp hearer he wouldn't have gotten a single word she said.

"Meifeng, I'll like to call you Xiao Meifeng. You okay with that?"

"Of course!" Mia answered almost instantaneously and Ivan smiled at her cute remark. That smile, that smile she could fall a million times because of it.

Next day...

Mia was daydreaming on her desk in school. Her eyes were twinkling from time to time. "You like my brother, don't you?" Ivy turned to her which took Mia by surprise.

"What?! no way, I mean he's handsome and all but he's not my type. Don't be a narcissist Ivy," Mia pfft and she ignored Ivy, looking everywhere but her fiddling with the pen on her desk. Without further notice, Ivy slammed the pen Mia was fiddling with on the table which caused Mia's head to snap towards her.

"I'm not stupid Mia. I also knew you befriended me to get closer to my bro and don't you dare deny it," Ivy's gaze on her was intense and serious. How could a 16-year-old girl hold this type of aura that screamed power?

"Okay I'm really sorry I used you, it's just that your bro is really cool and hot. He's the sweetest eye candy I've come across. I know I'm crazy and stupid but please forgive me, you're the best friend I've ever come across. I didn't even know that I'll grow to enjoy our friendship. Okay I can lose your brother but not you, please I'm so sorry," Mia pleaded almost on the verge of kneeling before Ivy.

When she saw that Ivy wasn't reacting she fell to her knees and held out her hand in a pleading manner. Still waiting for Ivy to reply

Ivy eyed her, "get up," she rolled her eyes.

"Thank you, Ivy," she immediately stood up and hugged Ivy, taking her by surprise by her sudden reaction.

Ivy subconsciously stiffened. No one had ever hugged her this way. But she liked it. It felt... warm.

Ivy couldn't hold it in anymore so she loosened her stiffened body and hugged her back.
