Marry Me Pls

Chris smiled, "No sir, actually I want to ask for your daughter hand in Marriage first."

"Hmph, you know Tina already has a child, Hope you are aware of that?" Papa-Tina asked as he stared to Chris.

"Yes sir, am aware, I love your daughter very much, as well as her child, and I want to marry her too" Chris replied and Papa-Tina sighed.

"Hmph.. Well am not Tina, but did you already discussed marriage with Tina before now?," Papa-Tina questioned again, as he still stared intently at Chris,

"Well not really sir, but I told her about my feelings for her and she accepted" Chris replied.

"Feelings and Marriage, are two different things. And as Tina already has a child, I will still like you to give it a proper thought if you really want to marry her or you just admire her, but first let me call Tina for you," Papa-Tina said and he turned to face his wife whom still frowned, to went to called Tina out, and to let Tina knew about Chris visiting and his intentions too.

Mama-Tina left and went to the backyard to called Tina. But as Mama-Tina got to where Tina was washing the clothes and almost thru, Mama-Tina quickly grabbed Tina by her hands, startling Tina whom stared to her mother in shocked, as Mama-Tina dragged Tina to a corner with her and spoked to Tina.

"Tina, what is going on between you and Chris?."

"Mom!.. What do you mean by that, I don't understand you?," Tina asked as she stared innocently at her mother.

"Don't tell me that!. Am your mother, what's going on between you two?!" Mama-Tina thundered, raising her voice at Tina as she was angry.

"Mom, Chris is just my friend, nothing much and why're you this upset? ," Tina asked and Mama-Tina fumed.

"Nothing much you said, but Chris is here asking for your hands in Marriage!" Mama-Tina spoked and Tina gasped in surprised.

"Wait mom, Chris is here?!," Tina smiled happily and wanted to went into the house to saw Chris, but her mother was still holding her hands and pulled Tina back to stand still, startling Tina again.

"Mom, what's it?. Let me go and say hi to Chris, since when did he arrived?," Tina asked wanting to went in but her mother shut her up..

"Will you shut up your mouth Tina, Since when did he arrived.. bla bla bla"

Tina frowned "..."

"Mom what's wrong"?," Tina managed to asked her mother, as she could saw it clearly that her mother was angry and behaving strangely unlike the mother she used to know.

"Look Tina, Whatever it is that you have with Chris, you have to stop it and call it off.. "

"Why mom?."

"Just listen to me and tell him you can't marry him.."

"But mom, Why should I tell him that, Did he asked for my hand in Marriage truly?."

"Tina just do as you are told, later I will explain my reason to you, but for now, you go in there as your father is calling you."

Mama-Tina didn't gave Tina any chance to asked her more questions, nor her reasons as to why she just came out and started telling Tina not to marry Chris.

Tina finally went inside to answered her father and she saw Chris seated smiling to her as she stepped in.

"Good afternoon," Tina greeted Chris, as she managed to smiled back at him after been scolded by her mother and Chris suspected probably Mama-Tina had told Tina something, when Mama-Tina went to called Tina, As Tina didn't really looked cheerful and happy, as the usual way Tina usually behaved whenever she saw him, but then Papa-Tina spoked to Tina, "Tina sit down first."

"Okay papa," Tina sighed and sat and Papa-Tina went further to told Tina why he called her from what she was doing.

"Tina, You know this young man here, don't you?."

"Yes Papa, I do"" Tina answered as she sat down properly on another available seat and Papa-Tina continued,

"Well he said he will like to take you along with him to the city, and will like to sponsor you back into the university, but you know you cannot just go with him to the city, because he's a man and he has s*xual desire, hope you understand what I mean?," Papa-Tina questioned as he shifted his gazed from Tina to Chris, as he spoked to Tina.

"Yes Papa I do," Tina answered her father shyly and he continued.

"Okay, So do you like him and want to marry him?," Papa-Tina asked Tina and just then Mama-Tina stepped into the parlour and went to sat next to Papa-Tina.

Tina became nervous as she stared from her mother, to her father and to Chris. Then she gulped and stared at Chris and she smiled and answered, "Yes Papa, I like him and will marry him."

Mama-Tina was shocked to her bone marrow and she stared at her daughter in disbelief, but she quickly interfere and rejected Tina's acceptance.

"No!. Tina will not do such a thing as marry him!."

"What?!" They all exclaimed as Tina and Chris both frowned and stared to Mama-Tina in shocked, while Papa-Tina spoked, "What as come over you woman?. Are you the one to marry Chris or Tina?."

Mama-Tina couldn't contain herself and she said, "Tina cannot marry him and that's final!."

Mama-Tina pointed her finger at Chris, While Chris looked more embarrassed at that moment.

"Why?, Why can't Tina marry Chris?" Papa-Tina questioned as he stared to his wife disappointedly but Mama-Tina shrugged, as she didn't wanted to explained her main reason in front of Chris and so she repeated.

"Tina cannot marry Chris and that's all I know. They can be friends but she won't marry him."

"Enough woman!" Papa-Tina shut his wife up, and Mama-Tina stood up speechless and finally left the parlour angrily, While Papa-Tina apologized to Chris on his wife's behalf and he said, "Am sorry Chris, Don't mind her mother. But I think, you both should properly think about the marriage first, and not rush things. When you're ready, you should bring your people for the marriage rite to take place fully."

"Thank you sir." Chris spoked and he stood up to leave, while Papa-Tina and Tina both escorted Chris to his car where he parked it outside, and Papa-Tina went back inside the house leaving just Tina and Chris at his car, Where Chris had earlier parked it earlier inside their yard.

Chris stared at Tina as he had been quite all thru after been embarrassed by Mama-Tina, but that didn't still deterred him from his choice of marrying Tina as he was happy at least Tina's father was more of a considerate man, unlike her mother.

"Am sorry.." Tina finally apologized to Chris after her father left them and went inside and Chris asked, "Sorry for what?."

Chris turned back and stared to Tina whom fumbles with her fingers and Tina said, "For what happened in there, how my mother behaved with you.."

"It's okay," Chris replied as he drew Tina closer to himself into a hugged and he lifted her chin upwards to face him and spoked, "You shouldn't be sorry about that. She's your mom and she might have her own personal reason or opinion against us, but all that matter is what we truly feel for eachother, okay."

Chris paused staring at Tina's pink lips and he continued, "I love you Tina, I really do love you. I should've gone back to the city since last week, but I couldn't as I know I will definitely miss you, but am selfish enough and longing to spend some more time with you before my return to City A, I love you."

Chris kissed Tina lightly on her lips and spoked just as their lips separated, "I will miss you Tina. How I wish your Dad can allow me, take you with me to the city."

Tina smiled faintly staring at Chris with her beautiful brown eyes and Chris concluded, "Take good care of yourself for me okay, and don't fall for any guy in this village. I will be back soon, love you."

Chris bid Tina goodbye and he sat into his car, "I will give you a call when I get to the city as am going straight to the city after leaving here, bye."

Tina waved him bye as she leaned over to his car and kissed him on his cheeks and replied "Goodbye my love and safe journey to the city."

Chris smiled satisfactory and closed his car door and finally drove away from their yard.

Mama-Tina stood at her room window and has been staring at Chris and Tina from her room window as she was visibly angry seeing them doing lovey-dovey beside the car and kissing.

And she waited for Tina to returned back into the house before she pounced on her daughter for disobeying her.
