Seraphiel's arms stretched out wide, the clouds rumbling over his head,
"see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder thy power throughout the universe displayed." sparks flew through the air, crashing across the barren land beneath, the bolts of light smashing into the hard skin of the dragon, its midnight scales rippling across and unwrapping, its cobalt eye staring back at Mahon's small body, the two drifted in the air, their eyes interlocking as they hung still. Finally, the dragon pushed forward, the blue dribbling and drooling from its mouth, fire spurting out and setting the forests below ablaze, its body lurching forward jaws stretched out the huge teeth hulking above Seraphiel's small body, pushing back with his wings he dodged flinging out his arm with a lightning bolt, the flash smashing into the side of the dragon's neck, but the monster didn't stop its body thrashing and turning around, the tail whipping at the air and swinging the huge lizard like body around letting the wings slash at the air. Huge bellows and gusts of wind swelled from their path smashing into Seraphiel, the fierce winds slicing through his body barely blocked by the wings, the huge jaws opening again and crunching down around the angel.
As the world turned dark, there was a quiet hissing, and then the blue swelled from the back of its throat. Illuminating the colossal mouth with a small ultramarine glow, the fireball swelling throughout, burning and burning across the flesh.
Despite the angel's thrashing, the flames kept coming, pushing him to the back of the mouth until a solitary ray of light slashed through the mouth. The tiny head of a spear, like a twig in the monstrous maw. Seraphiel pushed through the space in the mouth, bursting through the skin, his hands burning as he flew. His cut and sliced wings spinning and turning in the sky, forcing him to the ground. As he lay, the dirt piled in a crater, a small tanned hand reached through the blazing sunlight.
"Get up!" he said as Seraphiel was dragged to his feet, the man holding a spear tightly and staring at the dragon looming in the sun, its silhouette almost eclipsing the star above.
"You seem to be the only one who can actually damage that thing, so we need you."
"And who are you to command an angel?"
"My name is Leonidas of Sparta, and right now that beast is about a second away from burning my home, so I don't really care if you're a god or an ant if you can bring that thing down then I will help."
"What could a human do?"
"Throw spears until it falls, obviously."
"Oh, father, deliver me from this hell."
"Hey, we're fighting a dragon right now, not exactly something I have experience with, so… any ideas?"
"Nope, throwing spears it is."
