Chapter 58

...Dave you know I won't leave you just like that. Remember, everything started just because of me. And you were kidnapped for my sake. How would I leave you just like that? ....I told Dave since he held my hand, looked straight into my eyes, and continued appreciating the effort of my family by following up on his case with Sam.

I know all you said but you tried for me, Jessy. Thanks a lot. He continued and came closer to me then we kissed not minding that we were in the swimming pool. Dave is just making me drunk in love. But what does Madam Ruth think love is all about? How does she want me to terminate this relationship? How can I even speak evil against this handsome man with such a golden heart? While I was admiring Dave, I knew not how he read my mind then he looked into my eyes and said...Jessy you know you're elegance personified? I can't imagine losing you. Nothing will happen to our relationship.

The word came so suddenly to me. I couldn't imagine how I felt. I just had to reassure him that I'm really in love with him and that I have no plan to terminate the relationship

....Dave you know I love you and I'll continue to love you. So, no need to be anxious. I'm here for you and you alone.

Dave grinned and hugged me. We continued playing in the swimming pool. I didn't know that Dave could swim as much while I could only stand by the corner and be watching him. At some point, he would hold me by my hand and drag me to the deeper part of the pool. Though I was afraid but had the courage that the love of my life can't kill me willingly. Whenever he dragged me to the deeper side, he would still be the one to help me out. At one point, he said that he wants to teach me how to swim. I wanted to learn but I learned nothing since we were just playing in the swimming pool.

After having some enjoyable moments in the pool, we sat in the bar to have some drinks. Then I knew Dave could be jealous. A man just came into the bar and started admiring my beauty.

...Wow!! Young lady, you're gorgeous. You look good... He continued flattering me with his compliments.

Dave couldn't bear it any longer. Then he angrily said to him.

....Sir, she's sitting with someone. If you don't mind, you may go your way and allow us to have a better time. We didn't come here to listen to your gospels...

I'm glad you know I'm saying the truth. She's beautiful. Is she your sister?... This man is just troublesome. Why can't he mind his business?

I held Dave's hand and shook my head in response to what the man asked.

He couldn't just focus on what brought him to the bar. He walked closer to us and then said

...Sir, I'm sorry if I inconvenienced you. I'm sorry.

He brought out his business card to give Dave then Dave said...

...What for?

He slid it back into his wallet

"I'm sorry dear. I was just kidding. I'm Daniel by the name". He said and stretched his right hand to Dave for a handshake.

Dave...He said and both exchanged a handshake.

Daniel asked if he could join us at our table. Dave agreed since they'd made peace with each other. That's how we spent almost an hour interacting with Daniel. Then we got to know that Daniel was really in pain. His wife wants them to end a marriage of 3 years. He said that they even dated for years before getting married but everything changed when they legally got married. As he said, the wife just started nagging all of a sudden. He said his wife had turned their home into a war zone and because of that he doesn't find pleasure anymore while staying in his house.

We all tried to console him just to make him feel good. But sincerely, I couldn't just believe what he said. The wife couldn't just wake up and start nagging for no reason, perhaps she might not even be nagging as the man said. Maybe she was trying to make things better for the family. The man never said what he did but only narrated all the woman did. In other to make peace reign, no one cared to ask the man about the reason why the woman nags. Besides, we're not in the right position to do so.

That's how we got a new friend in the bar. A friend made us stop discussing ourselves and started discussing him and his family. I believe Mr. Daniel would find a way to restore peace in his home.
