Chapter 13

They arrived at the old villa just in time for the match.

She had slept off amidst preparation.

She was so weak but didn't want to miss the event.

As they hastily walked towards the gate, they weren't allowed in.

They were not permitted to walk into the building.

She was surprised, she lived with the people for years and they wouldn't let her in.

They said it was 'the madams' order.

They waited until the match to confirm their identity and invitation.

Everest was fuming with rage.

He never wanted to be here but Rose wouldn't hear of it.

She can't come alone and she needed his support.

"Did you see that ? That is the worst embarrassment I've ever received my entire life" he kept nagging on and on.

Rose succeeded in dragging him to the venue.

He was stunned with the expensive decorations.

The garden was fully decorated in gold.

They were few other colors in but gold was the color of the day.

'Grandma had always loved gold' Rose thought.

They took a seat at the far end with the few guests.

Every table has a setting of four seats surrounding the big gold decorated table.

They sat at the end far away from the public eyes.

She just wanted to enjoy the evening, say hi to grandma and go home with Everest.

She didn't know what was going on at the stage but when the crowd stood up, she and Everest did the same.

Everest was captivated by the amount of food laying lazily on the table while she was busy searching for grandma on the stage.

When she found her, she breathed a sigh of relief.

She was looking ever healthy in her LV custom designed gold color gown.

She wore what Rose called the Queen's style.

Have you ever seen Queen Elizabeth? Grandma is wearing her outfit in gold.

Rose smiled at the beautiful family looking down at the guest with bright eyes and genuine smile.

Daniel and a certain lady has their hands locked in a lovely way.

'That must be Angela' Rose confirmed

No one else would lovingly hold Daniel's hands in public except Angela.

They looked so happy.

She wiped away her tears.

Luckily she had no makeup on except her new turquoise knee length dress.

It wasn't much but it fits her chubby body well.

Though it does no effort in hiding her pregnant body but the table did the job for her.

Why was she wearing a different color from everyone else?

That was the least of her problems when she heard her name announced on stage.

She'd been called up the stage.

She was frightened.

She had told no one that she would be coming well except Olivia.

The young madam of the house.

They had texted each other few hours ago and called to confirm that Rose was here.

Rose grabbed a handful of her dress in her hands as she walks through the crowd.

The stage light was on her but she never noticed.

When she did she crossed her hands over her stomach.

It was her little way of shielding her baby from the prying eyes.

She stood at the foot of the stairs when a beautiful lady walked to help her up the steps.

She took a hold of the tender hands and gracefully walked up the stairs.

She let go and stood beside the lady.

"I want to introduce to you all the girl I've been taking about, she stood in for me when no one else did. She did a good job at keeping my family happy and safe until my return. She did a lot that i cannot say it all but, I am so grateful for the support and love she showed me. Everyone meet Rose " she spoke into the microphone as the crowd clapped and cheered for her or maybe Rose.

Rose smiled and bowed in respect.

All her life she's never been congratulated.

Do you think she'll still congratulate me when she finds out that she's carrying her fiancé's child?

"Come on everybody, let's take a family photo" grandma announced as the guests were moving into the ballroom for dinner.

Rose stepped back and watched as they all lined up holding hands and chattering.

The photographer was busy adjusting their postures and looks in order to get a perfect shot.

The whole family was looking dashing in their outfit.

The uncles and Aunt were not left behind.

They're all family.

Everyone was happy.

That is a rare moment for Rose.

She's never seen the whole family so happy with bright smiles.

She would smile at anyone who smiled in her direction.

"Excuse me miss, can you move away? Your reflection is visible in the glass behind " the photographer politely asked.

"Oh, sure sure. I'm sorry" she responded shyly.

She wanted to be in the photo so bad that she forgot all about the glass walls.

She stood as far away from the family and watched in a distant.

She was waiting for the photographer to round up, she needed to talk to grandma.

Her feet was beginning to swell when the photographer announced he was taking the last shot.

She felt heavily dizzy for standing for so long.

She felt a sense of relieve when she saw Everest racing down the hallway with flops in his hands.

He was smiling broadly as he approaches her.

"I knew you would need this " he spoke as he bent to take off her shoes.

She felt safe and relieved.

"When did you pack my slippers? I didn't see you do that?" Rose asked

"I packed a lot when you slept off Rose" he replied as she pulled off her shoes and placed her feets comfortably in the slippers.

Rose was shocked at how quickly her legs swelled in a matter of minutes.

"I can't wait for you to have this baby and send him back to the father, you've suffered enough already " he said nonchalantly

"Oh come on, i wouldn't abandon my baby just to be with you" She said casually.

"Well, I believe that i can make a good stepfather" he massaged her legs for a second and stood up.

"Maybe you can overthrow his father and accept the little boy or girl as yours" Rose spoke amidst her giggles.

"Nah, I'm good. I don't wanna get into Daniel's bad books"

"Daniel?" Rose asked shocked.

"Daniel Agreste" Everest replied as he bent down again to run oil on her feet.

"I never mentioned his name, how did you? When did you know he's the father?" Rose asked as she looks down on Everest.

"I knew it was him the moment we found out you were pregnant. Believe me when I say I was happy you left the Agrestes villa but was crushed when we found out you left them with a seed planted in you. Besides, Daniel Agreste is the only man you've ever been with" he placed her feet in her slippers.

Rose blushed hard as she watches him massage her foot when suddenly she stopped.

Everest figured she was looking at someone and when he looked towards the direction of her eyes. He saw Daniel was sternly watching them.

He didn't know they'd taken the family photo and dispersed.

He was scared and quickly let go of Rose's hands .

Daniel Agreste is not someone to mess with.

The Agrestes had taken the family photo and was matching to the ballroom when Daniel saw Daniel heard Rose's laughter.

He'd seen her walked up the stage with Angela and saw her waiting for them and now there she is, laughing with another man.

He stepped towards them to stop the conversation when he heard the guy said "i packed a lot when you slept off"

He was shocked.

Rose left few months ago and was already living with a man?

He was furious at them.

Not that he is innocent but this was his woman.

He was the first man that ever saw her nakedness and now she's carelessly living and sleeping with another?

He was vibrating in anger when the same male voice spoke yet again

"I can't wait for you to have to this baby and send him back to him the father " he was shocked .

That only confirmed his suspicions

He knew something was off with Rose the first time he saw her this evening.

She looked dull, chubby and probably fat.

She is pregnant?

How could she be pregnant and not tell anyone?

He picked up interest in their conversation and when he heard his named? He felt different.

I mean he was supposed to be happy that Rose was standing few feet from him with his first seed.

He was completely crushed and broken.

He didn't know she was pregnant when she left and when she found out, she didn't bother to tell him.

Has she been living with him for support?

How long has she stayed with him under her condition?

How is she feeling?

How is she fighting the pain of being a single mother alone?

He was vibrating when her eyes landed on him.

He knew she had done everything humanly possible to avoid him tonight but it wasn't happening.

The young man with her stood up and froze when he saw Daniel was starring at them.

He had mentioned that he didn't wanna get into Daniel's bad books.

"Oh my goodness Rose, what have you gotten me into?" He cried anxiously

"I wasn't supposed to touch you Rose, I never did. I'm sorry " he apologized endlessly

Rose starred at him in shock.

She was paralyzed from shock.

She didn't know what to do next.

"I need to use the bathroom " she said

"Not again. This is the hundredth time this evening " Everest complained as he guided her to the guest bathroom.

Daniel watched their backs until they were out of sight.

He couldn't digest the news he heard.

She was pregnant, he was happy but his presence ruined everything.

If he's been honest, he loves the look of pregnancy on Rose.

He wouldn't call him fat or chubby.

'She's beautifully shaped' he smiled at the thought of being a father.
