Five hours later.
Liam slowly woke up. He felt something soft and warm on his back and scooted even closer. After some time he turned and grabbed the soft and warm thing. He was still half asleep.
A moment later he woke up with a start as he remembered the last events.
He rubbed his eyes thinking, 'How much do I need to dilute the tea, so that it wouldn't have so strong of an effect?' His other hand was still holding the soft thing. He didn't remember anything that soft being this close before. He took his hand from it, slowly and backed up a bit.
It was a mass of black fur. He discovered that the mass of black fur was moving steadily. Like breathing, like he had seen the first creature.
This one wasn't as big as that or like Nio up on that tree. He looked up and saw him sleeping soundly. After a moment of thought, he remembered Nios' words. Especially about the plant life and sunlight effect. He guessed that it was stronger at the begging of the sunrise and would wane out later in the day. But as he had drunk the tea, he somehow had avoided the full effect of The Heaven's Breath of Dreams.
That name had just popped up in his mind.
He didn't bother sneaking around the black creature, he just got up and went to the stream. He took some cold water and splashed it on his face. He drank some water to moisten his dry mouth.
"Hello, would you come out, so it would be more comfortable to talk," he said looking at the water in the stream. He then looked around, "I know several of you are here, can I know the reason?" he went back to the long extinguished fireplace. Sat down, his legs crossed and his back straight, looking around him. The black mass of fur behind him. He wasn't very worried about it.
"Hello," a deep male voice answered him, "We arrived to welcome the World Reader to our birthplace," it then revealed himself, he looked . . . well, there was a simple way to describe him, like earth.
"How may I address this main element?" he asked respectfully, but he didn't get up and watched as the avatar sat in front of him.
"I am Earth and you may call me that," he was blunt and direct.
"I have met a few who named themselves, are you not interested?"
"No, wild things are not in my nature."
"Yes, I'm well aware of that. Are the others coming out as well?" Liam peered around him but saw nothing rippling or anyone appearing.
"No, most of us have decided to observe and I was selected to come once you called, we were rather shocked that you felt our presence."
"I have always felt your presence, since my birth, I knew of your existence."
"You are not from here, so you can not have felt our presence."
"Pardon me, I meant the ones from my home planet. They were rather intrusive and protective. May I request that you do not interfere with my journey and let me experience it as it goes?"
"Hohoho," loud barking laughter filled the area, Liam looked around at the black furry mass and Nio up on the tree, but neither of them stirred. He stopped after a while, "You are very different from the last World Reader we had," he looked at the boy in front of him as he stared at the two creatures. "They won't wake up as long as I am out here," he said extinguishing Liam's worries.
"Then, you have seen another like me?"
"Yes, she was born here. Like the ones on your home planet, we were also very protective of her, but she was ... rotten and she didn't care for our worries when the seed landed for the first time. We observed the seed and when the seed reached the water it started to move. It flew directly to her and the next moment everything was in chaos. After it all died down, our precious World Reader was gone, and a tower that connected heaven and earth had been formed."
"Hmm... I wonder... is that what happened to my home planet?"
"It is very likely."
"Can you tell me what happened after that?"
"We examined the tower and found that we were all connected to it, so we could take a look inside. After some time, different creatures started to form inside, and a little bit after that the tower started to pull in people. The people inside would grow into powerful warriors if they completed the trials inside. Many died but after a short period of time, the tower collapsed. We understood then that our World Reader had died, but we understood something else as well, our time had been slowed to a crawl, compared to other planets. After the tower collapsed, the time turned to normal."
"Do you know how long she was alive out there?" he asked as his heart was moving at double the speed in anxiety.
"As we watched her journey, she visited many planets and it took her a long time while only a few years passed here."
Relief washed over him, if he worked hard, he could still see his family again.
"Thank you, thank you," he repeated the words over and over as his shaking hands were covering his eyes, tears falling like a waterfall.
He wasn't even aware how he was holding onto something this heavy and when he felt the weight fall, he crumbled.
After this show of emotion, all the Avatars made their presence known one by one. They appeared as if they had discussed this, but they suddenly believed that this one was worthy. Some thought that his show of emotion was a trick or a weakness of his, and some felt that it wasn't real, but as they all looked and saw the emotion that all of his body displayed. They believed that this boy might be a good seed bearer.
"It's okay, it's okay," a gentle women's voice entered Liam's ears. He felt a warm hand rub his back in a circular motion. It soothed him and he started to collect himself.
He looked up and wiped his tears, leaving behind red and puffy eyes, he smiled at the lady, who was made of light. She had a different color to her, but he still recognized what she was. He straightened his back after some time.
"I'm sorry, I just thought that I might never see my family again, the Destiny String was pulling too hard and I couldn't even say goodbye to them," he said in an indignant tone.
