"We have observed that you are aware of a few things that many people and even we are unaware of."
"If you are referring to the energy gathering, then I figured a few things out on my own. It is not known even on my home planet. The energy here is about the same too," he said as he felt that they were asking about that.
"That and Destiny Strings."
"Those are treated as folklore on my home planet. My family only had a few clear records of it, even the Avatars had little knowledge of it," he said thinking about it.
"We know nothing about it, and hearing it from you, we now understand a few... incidents."
"Ohh, it doesn't matter to me at the moment. My soul seemed to be good right now," he thought of the pain he went through. He remembered about the seed. "The seed, can you tell me where it is?"
"Yes, but it is still in lava."
"Would it be possible to push it or direct it to a nearby water source?"
All the Avatars started at my question. 'Why this reaction?' Then, as one they turned to one that was standing far away. He didn't falter under the pressure and after a moment of thought, he nodded slowly.
Liam smiled and thanked him. After a minute Liam saw him leave.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
"What do you plan to do with it?" the earth avatar asked with a solemn tone.
"I'm not sure yet, but as you told me the seed will come looking, and if it acts like the one from my planet then I have some ideas. Would you oppose if I tell you, I have no intentions to give it to the people on this planet?"
He then looked around the avatars and answered.
"We do not oppose," he simply said in a matter-of-fact tone.
"Are you this disappointed in them?"
"They are inventing things, they are not evolving themselves."
"Huh, that's like my place. It's like after they figured out that they were smarter than the other lifeforms, they thought that they were superior. But my place is rather safe, so there is no actual need to evolve further or this fast. I haven't seen any of this world yet, but I think it is much more dangerous than my planet. The environment still evolves the creatures and people."
"It does, but the evolution process has slowed to a minimum, especially on the curly kind."
"Curly kind?"
"We call the people here like that. Well, most of them."
"Oh? By the way, the tower you spoke of before, has it formed yet, no?" after thinking a moment he understood how stupid the question was.
"No, the seed is still hidden," he reminded him.
"Ah! Yes, can I ask about a different matter?"
"You may."
"Is Nio on the wrong tree?"
"Yes."
"Is his tree out there somewhere?"
"Yes," he didn't elaborate.
"Thank you! I appreciate it a lot. You have released me of a burden I didn't even realize I was carrying and I have no more questions. Do you have any for me?" Liam looked at the stock Avatar in front of him and wondered how was he able to speak to him without affecting the environment.
"What did you mean before about interference?"
"I do not like to be pampered. I need to learn things on my own. This is why I said I would appreciate it when you interfered as little as possible and let me experience as much as possible. But I also appreciate it a lot when you warn me about killing myself accidentally. I still like living."
The avatar sitting in front of him nodded and then got up.
Liam also got up.
"It was nice meeting you in person, I look forward to your actions," he said and after a moment they were all gone from his sight. He still felt them, but many of them left and only a few stayed behind.
Liam turned to the black furry mass and went to look for its face or head.
He found it after a moment and realized that it looked like a cat, but the bigger sort from back home. Maybe a panther with longer fur?
"So... Who might you be? And why did you come looking for me?" he said looking at the big kitty in front of him, not expecting an answer as intelligent life wasn't easy to come by. After all, he hadn't found one on his planet, why should he be this lucky to come across a second one this soon.
The kitty looked sound asleep, so he felt safe to touch the fur again. After all, when he had done it before he had been half asleep and didn't even register that something was strange. The fur wasn't very long, but it was so soft that he wanted to bury himself in it. He felt like he was touching the softest most inviting pillow. He was rubbing his hand on the kitty's head when a sudden sound come out of nowhere.
He was startled but continued to rub his hand in the fur because he had recognized the sound. The kitty, this large kitty was no different from the ones back home. It likes being petted. The kitty was purring.
"So, you are somewhat conscious," he remembered a few things about cats, "I wonder, why have you come to me?" he wasn't looking at the big cat anymore, he was staring into the distance as if recalling a memory. He smiled faintly and sat down near the kitty, leaning his back against the cat. The vibration from it made him somewhat sleepy.
The sun was up and the environment was rather quiet. It was weird, it was too quiet for him. He didn't like it but also, he knew that most predators are sleeping at the moment and that made him feel quite safe. He just looked at the scenery around him for some time before getting up. He had things to do after all.
"Please don't leave, I want to know why you come," he said to the kitty, patted its head, and left to the forest. He said it, just in case the large kitty was awake and could understand him. Even though he thought that the chance of this happening was slim.
He wasn't doing anything important, just sneaking in the forest and gathering wood. You'd never know, some of the forest creatures may wake up early too. He was careful, just in case.
After getting back he noticed that the kitty was gone. He was disappointed but it couldn't be helped. If the kitty wasn't ready then there was nothing to it. He put the gathered wood down near the fire pit he had used the previous night. He had found another abandoned nest and used it to make the fire. He had learned his lesson, plants shouldn't be used in large quantities. Those few leave from yesterday seemed to be too much. The right ones weren't deadly but intoxicating. So he made himself a test subject.
He started to heat the water in two canisters. One was for experimenting with the tea and the other, a larger one, was for boiling or brewing broth. Rather, a quarter of the canister was filled with the meat, and the rest of it was filled with water and the seasoning he had brought with him. Just the small amount of salt and a tiny portion of the herbs he had found in the forest. He had added slightly some peppermint to see what it would do to the taste of the meat.
"So, are you experimenting?" the snake's voice sounded. It startled Liam quite a lot as he nearly fell to the stream. Just barely, he managed to regain his balance and stare up the tree when Nio was still located.
"Did you have to do that?" he asks grumpily, nearly growling.
"Do what?" Nio asked rather confused.
"Never mind," he brushed it off and took a stick to stir the fire.
