They chatted on their way up, but Liam had to shush Teddy and his mother when he spotted the tenseness of his two other companions. They were on high alert, they hadn't notified Liam yet, but he could understand that something was coming.
Their hearing was many times better than Liam, so he trusted their instincts.
With no warning, Liam grabbed the two humans and rushed out of the staircase. Unfortunately, the stairs between each floor was different. It varied from two up to five or six building floors. Right now, they were on the last bottom floors, which were the lowest height, and it wasn't much of a problem to get out of that staircase, but there was another problem.
"What is it?" Liam asked as he didn't see anything.
"Someone is coming," the bat answered, "He is running."
Liam looked around but didn't see any place he could hide. There was no good place to hide. He suddenly turned toward the woman he was carrying and the child in her lap.
