Princess Jessica locked herself for three days; during this time, she did not eat or drink or see anyone. She was said to be mourning the king, but she felt very guilty. Many people did not belive this, they thought that was a means the princess used to salient the officials, nobles and generals if the princess was mourning her father, how could they put any pressure on her at such a time? On the third day, she opened her door to find Molson and May waiting on her.
"Prepared the water for my bath," She turned to May. Princess Jessica looked calm, but the dark circle around her eyes showed that she was tired and must have cried a lot during this time. Her hair also looked unkept, one could quickly tell she had used her hand to comb it, but it had lost its usual grace and beauty.
"yes, your highness," May bowed, for three days, she had been holding on to the letter from Ramsey, but she was not stupid enough to hand over the letter at this time. Molson was standing there moreover, the princess did not seem to be in a good mood. She walked over to go and get water.
"How is the preparation for father's burial?" Princess Jessica turned to ask the Molson. Before she locked herself up, she had given instructions to old Grey.
"Your highness, everything has been arranged," Molson answered. He was a close discipline of old Grey, so he understood what was happening.
When the princess heard this, she nodded her head. "How is the kingdom? Has my uncle made any move?" Jessica asked. It was tradition for her to mourn the king after his death. Usually, this should take seven days, but since the king's death was too sudden, she could only take three days out. Moreover, the king was ambushed. She could not disappear for seven days. Ministers from the smaller villages would arrive by evening, so an assembly would be held the following day.
Her father's burial was the next day evening. It would be a feast that we last for two days. One the third day, which would make it seven days since her father died, she would be crowned the Queen. The two days before the feast was when there would be trouble, Jessica did not believe her uncle would sit still and do nothing.
May was swift, soon, some servant brought the water and arranged for the princess's bath. Jessica also returned to the room and headed to the bathroom to bathe. While she was gone, May and another maid arranged what the princess would wear.
Jessica was calm; she took her bath and allowed her maid's help her with dressing up. Now that her father was dead, the kingdom's responsibility had fallen on her shoulders.
It was hard to take such responsibility, but there were people plotting her failure. Her father had done so much to ensure that she would be the next on the throne, she did not dare fail him again. she felt that succeeding would be the only way she could Lessing her guilt. Of course, she would not let go of the crown prince of Gousho.
"Your highness, would you like to eat something?" May asked as she helped the princess to style her hair.
"No," Jessica answered. Since she was mourning her father, according to tradition, she could not eat or drink. Even if she had come out seven days before, Jessica still wanted to complete the rite for her father.
"Your highness, it has been three days, you cannot be too hard on yourself," May tried to convince her. She was so consumed with sending the second maid out that she forgot that not eating and drinking was a way for a child to mourn their parents.
"Are you tired of having your tongue?" Jessica asked. The princess was in a bad mood. Moreover, she expected May to know when to shut her mouth.
When May saw the cold gaze she shivers, no matter what she did not dare to alter another word. She was scared that the princess would really make her lose her ability to speak.
The other maid also felt scared, but she felt fortunate that she was not the one that made a mistake. Everyone in the Palace knew that May was a trusted subordinate of the princess, so even if the two of them were the same in rank, the second maid always listened to May.
She was so how happy to witness the princess losing her temper in May. The second Maid's Name is Mabel. She was loyal to the princess, and she hated May for being so arrogant simply because she was favoured by the princess. The real reason why May was more favoured was because of the princess's secret relationship with Ramsey, Jessica felt that the fewer people that knew about it the better, especially since her father did not agree to it.
"Mabel, you would accompany me today," princess Jessica said, getting up from her seat. She was not naive. She knew that May wanted to tell her about Ramsey, but she was scared of breaking her oath to her father. Until he was buried, she wanted to honour his words and stay away from Ramsey. This was already a difficult decision, so she did not dare hear about him.
May felt that her soul had left her body, if she was no longer favoured as in the past, many would mock her, and her day would become miserable. After all, she had bullied many because of the princess's favour.
"No, no," May shook her head; she also thought of the possibility that her dealings with Ramsey had been exposed, especially the truth of what happened a few months ago. (a few months ago referred to when the princess had an accident and Ramsey saved her life)
Thinking in this direction, May was scared she began to sweat, "ahh!! I should warn General Ramsey," May thought as she watched Mabel, with a trumpet smile, follow after the princess.
When May came out, Molson and Mabel had left with the princess, so it was very convenient for her to sneak out. she hoped that the princess would not look for her soon.

Hello lovely readers, I want to update more chapters for this story, but I feel a little discouraged. As a writer, my biggest satisfaction is having the support of my readers.
I am not here to say that I would no longer publish 'col soul', but I just want to hear from my wonderful readers. Do you want me to continue writing it? Or you don't find it interesting.
If I get at least five responses from people who want me to continue the story, then I would increase the update chapters to five chapters a week.
Thank you for your support, don't forget to vote with your power stones. I love you all.
