Chapter Fifty

Sophie drove as fast as she could, not caring about the consequences, with her pregnancy, it seems to be a hard task because she was growing weaker by the minute but she didn't even stop to take a rest.

She was so done!

Nothing at all... Nothing was going to make her go back to Marcus.

So he sent her all the way here so he could have a nice time with Stacy. The woman who'd almost killed her?

What the heck?!

She diverted into the road that led to the house, packed at the front porch and got down. Elliot and Evelina met her at the door.

"Miss Sophie.....you should have woken me up to take you to where...."

Sophie shut him up with her palm up even before he could finish and shook her head at him.

"I don't want to hear anything from you" She turned to Evelina "Where's Camille?" She asked walking into the house with Evelina and Elliot tailing behind her.

"She's upstairs resting, what's wrong Sophie? You don't look okay, do you need anything?" Evelina answered moving closer to her.

Sophie shook her head again and made for the stairs.

"I'm leaving this place, right this minute, this hour! And I want no one looking for me! Tell Marcus not to think of doing so should in case he tries. I've heard enough of his lies and dramas."

"The boss...." Elliot muttered as he exchanged glances with Evelina who tries to stop her from stuffing more clothes into the bag she was holding.

"Do not try to stop me Eve!" Sophie said dragging her hand out of Evelina's own.

"Can you please tell us what's wrong?" Elliot said.

Sophie didn't reply. When she has stuffed enough clothes into the bag, she closed it up and began to carry it out of the room.

Elliot tried to stop her but the look she sent him made his hand drop to his side.

She moved to Evelina's room to retrieve Camille and went downstairs.

"Sophie... Can you please calm down and tell us what's wrong?"

"Where are we going mommy?" Camille sweet voice rang out as she placed her on the passenger seat beside driver's seat.

Sophie felt tears slid down her cheeks as she placed her hand on Camille soft cheeks. "We're leaving this place and going somewhere far away"

"Why isn't Aunt Evelina following us" She asked again.

Sophie looked back to see Evelina standing with Elliot. Both staring at them, she didn't want to hurt them this way but if that's the only way to get out of here, then so be it.

"She can't come with us Cam, She needs to stay here but we need to go. Okay?"

Camille nodded sadly and tried to wave at Evelina but Sophie closed the door and walked over to the other door to get in, She adjusted the seats so as to contain her big belly and get comfortable. She started the engine of the car and drove off.

Evelina sagged against the door in utter dismay and would have fallen if Elliot hadn't helped her up.

"What could be wrong?" She asked Elliot who escorted her back into the house.

He gave her a baffled head shake.

"I don't understand either"

Sophie drove along the lonely highway of the country side, The sun was gradually going down and it would be night soon. But wait, where was she even driving to?

She knew no one here, no family, no friends, no relatives. Where the hell was she.......Wait! She knew someone!

Dave!

With a surge of joy, she turned around and drove to the hospital she'd gone for her checkup. She prayed he would be able to help her, at least for the main. time. She glanced at the sleeping Camille on the other seat, with the seatbelt safely attached.

She drove calm and cool at her new found hope, what she's only praying for now is that she should meet him at the hospital, if not then they'll probably sleep in the car for the night and come back tommorow.

She drove steadily into the driveway and switch off the engine, then took out her cell phone and dialed Dave's number.

He didn't pick up, and she tried calling him again. Thankfully he did this time.

"Hey Dave"

"Sophie...so nice to hear from you, how are......"

"I need your help Dave, am outside your workplace. Can you come outside please"

"You're outside? What in the world are you doing........"

"Please Dave, Or...Oh am so sorry, are you busy?" She realized she was speaking to a doctor who was still at work. "You can just call me when you're done, am sorry...."

"No..... I'm less busy right now, I'll be outside in few minutes" After this he ended the call and Sophie placed her hand on her fast beating chest.

Thank God, at least he should be able to help them.

Camille steered in her sleep and slowly opened her eyes.

"Hey big baby" Sophie smiled at her, not wanting her to feel the pressure of things right now.

Camille smiled back at her,"Where are we mommy" She asked squinting out of the window trying to look around.

"Oh we're at the hospital, and I came to do some checkups"

"Is it for our baby?"

Sophie laughed and nodded. "Yes Cam, for our baby"

A knock sounded on the window and Sophie looked up to see Dave smiling down at them. She quickly wind down the glasses.

"Hey Dave, am sorry for disturbing you but I really really need your help right now" She said quickly getting down from the car.

He held her hand and walked her a few steps away from the car.

"What's wrong Sophie, you don't look okay, is it the baby?"

"No.....no Dave.... there's nothing wrong with the baby. Am stranded, I have no where to go, please can you help me for the main time. Till I can get things sorted?"

"What's wrong? What about.....the father of your baby?"

"It's a long story Dave, I told you that before. It's really not something we can discuss standing. But maybe when u get settled down, i can pour out my ordeals"

Dave stared at her In disbelief and ran a hand through his deep brown short curls.

"Are you sure you're going to be okay staying with me?"

"It's okay if you don't want to help. I'll look somewhere else, thank you x Sophie started walking back toward the car but he quickly followed her and grabbed her hand.

"Am sorry, I'm just trying to make sure it'll be okay if you stay with me. Try and understand"

Sophie nodded her understanding, turning to face him again.

"Will you help me, not me alone though, My baby is in the car and my other baby inside me"

Dave smiled at her and nodded.

"As long as it is you, I can do anything for you Sophie" He stated mildly.

Sophie didn't like the sound of that, but she shrugged it off.

He walked her back to the car and opened the door for her.

"Sir here for a while, let me go in and finish up what I was doing, I'll be with you in half an hour" He told her and she nodded.

He closed the door and she watched him walk back into the hospital.

Thank God! She had somewhere to stay for the main time. She prayed Marcus won't look for her and ruin her plans.

But one part of her hoped he will.
