Chapter fifty six

Sophie was the first to breath in the cool air of Los Angeles streets. Their house was on the outskirts of the big city, On a not too isolated land. Few buildings could be seen surrounding them.

The house was as huge as Marcus house, very beautiful, and the gates opened automatically too.

The inside was well then care of, cleaned, neat, and white.

There was a good looking swimming pool at the back of the yard too and the sitting room can be lost in if not careful.

Sophie wasn't in the mood to check out the buildings first, what she wanted now was a good sleep and rest, but she needed to clean up Camille first.

After Evelina went into the kitchen to quickly prepare a fast food for everyone, Sophie went upstairs with the help of Ben and checked out the bedrooms, saw the one that best fit her and went in as Ben helped her bring in her luggages.

As she walked into the bathroom with Camille, bath her and wore new, clean clothes for her, she took her downstairs to feed her. Gave her some cereals, omelets and cupcakes that where found in the fridge.

After they've all eaten, the three of them, Sophie Camille and Evelina both retrieved to a room to sleep. They slept around four thirty but Sophie woke up around nine o clock in the night.

When she woke up, she went downstairs, eat, took her bath and went back to sleep. That was how tired she was.

"I knew you sent your pregnant woman overseas. Sounds like a good idea but not to me" Brian says into the phone.

"Whatever can you do?" Marcus asked him, trying not to get as angry as he was getting now.

"You turned me into a one legged man, I already promised myself, that I'm personally going to cut your leg and that of that your slutty girl....."

"Shut the hell up Brian, I'm trying my best not to cut out your other leg and leave you paralyzed entirely" he warned.

"You can't!"

"Then, lay a finger on that woman and you're gone"

"I'm not as easy as you think....."

"I already got all you weaken points from your freaking woman who still couldn't keep herself for one man"

"Stacy, she knows nothing about me"

"wait until I start using them against you! And when you see her, tell her that I already know the whereabout of her child whom she'd been hiding from everyone, I'm sure that piece of news will trigger her brain"

With that Marcus ended the call and shift to his computer. Zooming in on the quite battered house where Stacy's sister lived with Stacy son.

They surely will be able to help him out.

"Get the car ready, we're going there now!" He told handy who walked out immediately to do as he was told.

He grabbed his phone and called Sophie. She picked on the third ring, her voice was blurry, like as if she'd been sleeping.

"Hi Marcus....."

"What's wrong?"

"Jet lagged....since yesterday" She complained.

"Sorry, how're you feeling now. Better?"

"Better" she answered.

"Tell either one of the guards to go with Evelina to get you some medicine from the hospital or you'll rather go to the hospital?"

"Neither of the two, I've taken my medicine"

"Good, please take care of yourself okay, do not make any attempt of going anywhere alone. make sure you're always safe, take your medicine and...."

"Marcus..."

"I'm sorry, how's Camille and Evelina?"

"Perfectly fine, I miss you Marcus"

"Missed you more my woman. I promise I'll see you soon. I'm still trying to finalize what I'm doing here, once I'm done I'll come straight over."

"Hmnn"

"Let me leave you to rest, make sure you don't stress yourself okay, you need to stay strong for the baby, so it could be an easy birth, you Know if you stress yourself too much it can affect the digestion if the baby fluid and....."

"Marcus!"

"Sorry...?"

"I Know everything you're saying, you don't have to worry, I'm okay"

"Please stay okay for me"

"Yes I will"

"I love you Sophie" He said and immediately ended the call.

Sophie's gaze snapped open the minute she heard what he said.

It seem the drowsiness was taking a good toll on her and it was making her hear unintended things.

Or did she hear right?

He said he loved her?

She sat up hastily, not caring about the back pain she was feeling.

Marcus loved her?!

Beautiful Jesus!

She was loved! oh God!

**** ****

Marcus dropped the cell phone his mouth almost wide opened.

He'd said that?

He told her he loved her. His fast beating chest even confirmed it.

Yes! He loved her, he truly, deeply, and sincerely loved her.

Not the kind of love he loved his mother, or that he loved Stacy but a different type of feelings.

The feeling of affection, of desire, of want, of care. Mostly the feeling of protection. He loved her, loved their unborn child, loved everything and everyone partaning to her, and he wanted to protect her with everything he had.

And no one, he meant no one was going to hurt her. Or hell rather die than see her hurt.

He'd gone far with his thoughts, and he didn't even hear when handy came in to tell him the car was ready.

"Sir!"

"Sorry handy.You're ready?"

"Yes sir, the car's ready. We're leaving now?"

"Yes we are, clear this place of all this unused files and put them In the side desks, then meet me in the car"

"Ok sir...I'll meet you in a minute"

Marcus walked over to the car in the parking lot. He was about to enter but decided to wait a little for Handy do he can drive them to where they where going.

Three seconds later, the car, his car exploded.

It blew him away and he hit his head hard against the wall. The fire oozing out from the explosion was almost burning his skin as the heat was unbearable.

He tried to stand up when he saw Handy running towards him as fast as he could.

Handy helped him up on his feet and Marcus stood for few seconds, staring at the burning car. There was a fire alarm sounding In the distance and the fire extinguishers vehicles must be on their way now.

So if he hadn't waited for Handy to come and he'd entered into the car, he would have exploded too?

When he hasn't even set his eyes on his unborn child?

Brian must be a good game player. But he'll show him that he's far better than him.

Handy helped him walk away from the scene as the fire extinguishers came and started watering the fire which seemed to be dying down.

They had drawn the line. Now they must cross it.
