Chapter Sixty

"There's a camera hidden in the teddy bear" Ben announced to Sophie and Evelina as they walked down the stairs the day after.

Sophie's expression changed from a happy mood to something else entirely.

"What?" Sophie couldn't believe her ears, she walked towards the Baby things that hadn't been moved away from where it was.

"There's a camera?" Evelina asked again, surprise written on her face.

"Yes," Elliot said, ripping open the teddy "There is"

Sophie stared wide eyed at the small camera hidden in the teddy which Elliot had brought out. Ben collected it fro. Elliot and placed it gently on the table.

"It must be connected to somewhere In someplace. The boss said it was from a lady called Leslie....."

Sophie didn't let Ben finish before she interrupted him. "Leslie? Why did she send this? And why didn't Marcus tell me"

Evelina patted her back as she noticed she was already getting quiet frustrated and agitated.

"Calm down Sophie, you need to calm down"

Sophie walked towards a chair and sat in front of the camera.

"So, they're seeing all my movements right now in wherever it's connected to right?" She stared up at Elliot and Ben who both nodded their head.

"Until we disconnect it, everything's being recorded"

"What the hell!" Sophie's anger was rising, and she knew very well that wasn't her best option.

What could Leslie be up to again?

First of all,she had been dragging Marcus with her. secondly, she had beaten her up, thirdly, she had almost killed her in the hospital when she wanted to inject some deadly chemical into her drips. Thankfully Marcus had saved her. Or literally, he'd saved her from all her wimps.

And now this?

Leslie again?

What the hell did she want from her again after sending her out at Almost midnight the other day at Dave's house. It was a pity though that she was even related to Dave in the first place.

So what where they going to do now.

"That means," Evelina began. "She knows this place?"

"She must, because for her to send this baby products here, she must have gotten where we are, and apparently wants to know what we're doing here" Elliot answered Evelina.

Sophie signed, Evelina slumped again the cushion, Elliot and Ben exchanged furious glances, all thinking about what to do.

"First of all, I'll report the matter to Marcus" Sophie said trying to stand up.

Ben sat her back down. "Never mind, I'll do that. Just sit here while Elliot disconnects the camera. You don't need to stress yourself too much" Ben said as he went up the stairs to get his cell phone.

Sophie was about to grab the camera when her cell phone rang beside her.

Taking the phone and glancing at the caller. Dave?

She stared at Evelina and Elliot at the same time.

"Dave's calling, Leslie's a relative of his" Sophie said trying to get them to make a suggestion weather to pick it not.

"I need to go upstairs and check if Camille's awake, she should be by now" Evelina said going up the stairs.

Elliot stared at her and shrugged.

Sophie picked the call on the last ring.

"Hey?" Was the only thing she said.

"Hi Sophie, i'm sorry I couldn't call you all this while, and I'm sorry for the other day, i'm sorry for not trying to stop my sister from sending you out...."

"Dave.....it's Okay. It's all in the past now"

"I'm truly sorry Sophie, you see, that night I followed you few minutes after you left but you where no where to be found. I couldn't find you at all...."

"Dave....I said it's okay, So....."

"My sister's sorry too, She sent you some baby products, did you see them?"

"I did see them, did you know I and your sister had some issues in the past?"

"Yeah Sophie, she told me all about it, You stole her man, or she stole your man, I don't know whichever way to put it"

"Nobody stole anybody's man. It's just some sort of misunderstanding between us two."

"But she sorry...."

"She isn't" Sophie said.

"Why did you say that?"

"If she was, she wouldn't have placed a hidden camera inside the teddy bear"

"She did what?" He sounded dumbfounded.

"She placed....."

"I heard you...I heard you, I just couldn't believe it"

"Well it's the truth, we found out not long ago and I'm still trying get a grip on myself. So she's not as sorry as you seem to say."

Sophie could hear Dave sign on the other end of the phone.

Few minutes after Sophie ended the call, Evelina came downstairs with Camille, still in her pink nightie. Her hair in disarray. she looked so cute.

"Hey baby girl" Sophie said to Camille who walked groggily towards her, rubbing her eyes.

"Good morning Mommy"

"How was your night big Baby?" Sophie smiled at her, ruffling her hair.

"It was fine mommy"

"She needs to take her bath, Sophie, and to eat, remember you have a doctor's appointment today by two pm..."

"Oh, that's true, I've almost forgotten..."

"You've already forgotten." Evelina corrected her.

Sophie smiled at her, "I'll go take my bath too, then we'll come back together and talk about this"

"Good" Evelina nodded, walking away with Camille to the kitchen.

As Sophie was about to go up the stairs, Ben was on his way down, his expression was unreadable.

"What did Marcus say?" Sophie asked.

"He said to keep you safe, he'll be here any time from now, not by time though, by day rather. But he said he'll do something about it from over there."

"What?"

"He'll go and talk to his father."

"About...wait... Marcus wants to go and meet his father?"

Ben nodded and started walking down again.

He helped her a few steps up before letting go of her hand and walking toward the kitchen.

Marcus wanted to go and meet his father?

Did he want to ask his father for help? Or tell him to warn Leslie off him as it was his father that had introduced them together.

She walked into her bedroom, sat on the bed and thought about what's going to happen anytime from now.

With a hand on her belly, she layed down on her back, staring up at the ceiling.

Which problem should she face, or which problem was facing her right now?

Leslie? Stella? or is it Brian?
