Lethargic

Lei hurried back to the guest house. He ran to the playroom, but no one was there. He took the stairs by two and saw a crowd before the door to his room. When they all heard his steps, they made a corridor for him. Chao was knocking on the door and telling Lili to open it.

"What happened?" Lei was not losing time and searching for emergency keys.

"We don't know. She woke up glowing, had breakfast, and then she even played a few dungeons with us. But then her hand started hurting, so she sat on the side and chatted with us. After some time, she got a call, which she took into your room," said Chao quickly.

"We gave her some time, but after three PKs and one dungeon mission, she wasn't back, so we got worried. We knocked, yelled, and asked for the past forty minutes, but she was not responding. And there was no sound there. Not even rustling the bedsheets." Yitian looked worried when he was saying rest. Lei finally managed to unlock the door, and he quickly got into a dark room and slammed the door before the others.

He turned on the lights and sighed in relief. She was safely sitting on the edge of the bed. When he came closer, Lei noticed something was wrong with her and got worried even more.

Why was she sitting in the dark without moving? She didn't even flinch when he came in. He kneeled in front of her and took her hands into his. It was deadly cold. Lili blinked. Her face was white as a sheet of paper. Normally she was pale, but now she looked dead.

Her phone was now resting in her lap. Something cold hit his palms. She was crying. And judging by her red and swollen eyes, she cried for a long time. And made no sound. It was the first time for him to see someone crying so stone-like.

"Lili, honey, what happened? Talk to me." He tried, but nothing happened. Not even blinking. Lili was just looking through him. Her mind wasn't here. There was only one thought in his mind. Lucy will help. But he hadn't got Lucy's number.

Lei took Lili's phone and thanked god for facial recognition. He held it before her face and it unlocked. He found Lucy's name. The last incoming call looked like mama. He put the call on the speaker and tried to shake Lili. Nothing.

"Hej, co je?" Czech? Nevermind. This was an emergency, not the time to be fascinated by language.

"Lucy, something happened to Lili. She is not responding, just crying without a sound." He heard her probably swearing because the melody and intensity looked like it. Then she changed to English.

"What the fuck happened before? I told you not to hurt her. Fuck. How long is she like that? Fuck. I'm coming over. I'll be there in a half hour. Crap. Try to get her to respond. Give her some alcohol. Whatever. Just wake her up from this trance. She will stop eating, drinking, everything. Last time she ended up in a hospital." Now, Lei, after seven years, said a really bad word in Chinese.

"Roger," he said to Lucy.

"Chao!" he yelled and doors opened with big force.

"Is she okay? What to do?" They all looked worried.

"Get some baijiu. Or whatever strong alcohol." Chao just looked at Yitian, who was almost down the stairs already.

"Take it as a fulfilled wish. Can I come in?" he asked.

"I'm in the car. I'll be there soon. Who was the call from?" Lucy said on the phone.

"Mama. Is it her mother?" Lei asked, and Lucy mumbled something that sounded bad and said yes.

"Could something happen at home?" Lei asked, worried, not thinking about anything else than Lili.

"How should I know? Oh god. At least you are good-looking. Because you are not bright." Lei chuckled. She was right. Right now, he was only pinching and trying to do the impossible to wake her up. His mind was occupied by not thinking.

"Hey, you skyscraper gingerbread idiot, stop being a bitch. He is worried," Chao said, and Lei shot him a critical look.

"Oh, the lazy bummer is there too?" she replied. Lei ignored these two and pinched Lili's nose. Her mouth slightly opened so she could breathe. Good.

Let's try if he is a prince from fairy tales. He leaned towards her and kissed her. Lightly. With a touch of butterfly wings. She did nothing. So he kissed her more deeply. Nothing. Maybe he wasn't her genuine love after all.

"Why are you silent? What's happening?" He heard Lucy's voice.

"He tries Prince Charming's wake-up call. I think mom read too many fairy tales to him when he was young." Chao was shaking his head, and Lucy made a disgusted sound.

"Pff, taking advantage of her when she is out of it, huh? Disturbing." Lucy said, out of breath, showing that she was running somewhere. Yitian ran into the room. Bottle in hand. He handed it over to Lei.

"Should I pour the alcohol directly into her mouth? What if she chokes?" Lei asked her, unsure of what to do.

"That would be good. It will wake her up. I'm almost there. Three minutes. Call your guard." Chao was making the call when Lei poured some baijiu into Lili's open mouth. She spat it out… all over him and coughed. Blinked a few times and then she started crying like a normal person.

She hugged Lei, bending over before her, and cried with so much pain. Lei did not know what was worse. Her lethargic mood or this heart-paining one.

"What happened?" Lucy hurried inside. "Good, she is normal now."

"I want to go home. I have to go home," Lili said lightly into his shoulder and Lei's heart broke.
