"Do you know this saying? If two people share an affinity, they will meet even if they're a thousand miles apart." Lili turned to Lei and faced him. She smiled and then fled away.
"But if they do not, they will not know each other even if they're opposite each other." That was the second part of the saying, she whispered to herself only when she was outside, alone.

Lili Park is a Czech translator and an occasional jeweler. Her designs are unique and so is her personality. Shy, but strong, young but wise, she is full of contrasts. After meeting a young CEO who is interested in her jewelry, she is obsessed with his smile.

Obsessed with his smile

"Are you sure you want to leave like this?" Lucy asked Lili for like the tenth time. No, she did not want to, but she had no choice.


"He knows it, he gets it. I told him why I have to go to Lucy. And you know why, too," Lili said in a sad voice. And Lucy turned back to look out of the window.


"Why right now… Everything was going so smoothly between you two. You finally started opening up again." Lucy complained. 


Yeah, Lili has hurt now again, and her walls were back up. But that did not mean Lei had no way through them. Lili imagined his face, and it just slammed her wall like a wrecking ball. Then she recalled the reason she had to leave him. And started weeping again.


Her great-grandma died. The person who brought her up because her parents were at work. The person who was on her side when something happened. She was basically like her mother.


"Don't worry. It's okay. You need to go home." Lei hugged her. He was so understanding. Even when they were standing in the departure hall and she was leaving him. He even helped her book the earliest tickets.


"I have to... I know I have to. I need to, but at the same time, I don't want to leave you." Lili was so confused.


"We will keep in touch. We will talk to each other through a webcam. Call and message each other. Don't worry. I won't let us come apart." He paused and smiled at her. Strangely, she felt a bit better thanks to his smile. The corners of her mouth rose a bit when he continued.


"Remember… When two people share an affinity, they will meet each other, even being kilometers apart. We met. That shows that we have a future together." Lili snuggled into his hug more. The warmth of his body was so soothing.


"I know I can't wait. You can visit me with a team when you go to Germany to win the championship." He smiled even more and kissed her lips. He held her hand so dearly. Lili felt so hopeless, he was so tender and gentle. She didn't want to leave.


"I will visit you. And you have to deliver your goods personally. Don't forget the work I gave you." Lili was shocked. For the first time ever, she really did forget about her work.


"You need to go. You will be going through a security check and you will be boarding soon. Even though I don't want to let you go. You have to." He kissed her last goodbye. It was a deep, long kiss. Then he let her go and she walked through security.


"We promised that we will keep in contact. Don't worry." Lili said to Lucy, but more to herself. It will be okay.


"Yes, you promised, but remember... in all dramas, there will be his old friend taking care of ML's lonely heart and he will fall in love with her. Then when you come back to him, you will become the second lead who is bitterly trying to destroy their cute and lovely relationship." Lucy really was my best friend.


"Wow, you know how to make one miserable." But Lili smiled. She knew Lucy was making fun of her. Because if Lei falls in love with someone else, she would cry herself to sleep but let him go. Because you want happiness for the person you like.


She closed her eyes and tried to fall asleep. But without Lei's warm body, which she got used to, and her emotional distress. She felt so cold. This will be a long flight home.
