Give and slay

The door opened to the hotel suite of Bai and others almost immediately when Lei rang the bell. He carried in all their laptops. Well, not all. Few of them were carried by Lili, who walked in behind Lei. But only in one hand because in the other one, she was balancing an opened laptop.

"Get to the table and log in to the game," Lei said while putting them on the table. Everyone got up and listened with no protests, even Yixing voluntarily raised from Huobai's lap. For Lili, this behavior was really suspicious. But they were adults, so there was no need for her to include herself in their matters.

"When you were playing, I was working hard. I borrowed Chao's account and made some upgrades for you." The air filling the room had brightened even more because if Lili did upgrades, it would be something.

She sat among them and was in the game too, while Lei was hugging her from behind. But the second she logged in, she was infuriated.

To make it easy, she had transferred all the things into Chao's inventory. While updating his equipment, too. But now, once she logged in, she was attacked by nasty messages once again.

And the world chat was in disarray too. It really was a time for her to stand in as Chao. Lili selected the loudest one from the world chat and checked out his equipment.

The stranger's profile hadn't shown stats, but one glance was all Lili needed to see the equipment was nothing interesting. She immediately initiated a PK duel. And to her surprise, the guy chickened out.

"So, Chao was in the game for a while, before going to sleep again. He actually said good luck to you, but he doesn't care if you win or lose. He just said you should have fun and try the atmosphere of a bigger tournament. And even said that we have plenty of time to play together, so you don't have to worry if you lose." She stopped, frowned when she looked at the screen. Someone had sent Chao an invitation to a duel. Lili accepted and moved around with her mouse a bit.

Lei understood what she needed and raised himself, leaving her free rein over her body. Lili furiously wrote in the world hat for everyone to go and look at their PK.

When they finally entered, the arena was actually full of people. Her movements change to the same as if Chao was playing the game.

"Ha! Imbecile," she exclaimed and then clapped her hands. It took her exactly thirty seconds to defeat him. And it would be faster if she didn't hit the wrong button the first time she used a spell. She looked up at the team and shook her head.

"I forgot. Yeah. He said it's okay if you lose, but it can't be someone weak. Look at me. He has all those imbeciles calling him names in the world chat. Usually, Chao would ignore them, but today, he told me to choose one and show his strength. That he will be back in a few days after he sleeps everything off." Yixing chuckled.

"So? Why are we in the game? What are the upgrades?" Huobai asked, shaking his head. Lili often jumped from topic to topic and it was fascinating and funny at the same time for others, not much for her, who was easily distracted.

"Oh yeah, I forgot." She stared at the screen, furiously clicking a few more seconds, before raising her head and looking at every one of them. She was already working on sending all the equipment to their lawful owners. Just a few more clicks and it was all sent out.

"I know it's hard without our two boys, so I tried something… And it actually worked out!" she happily shouted and Lei sighed. Lili wanted to smack his thighs, but because she knew why he was pissed, she let it go and just grinned at him.

"Tried? You had been glued to the screen since last night and you slept one hour. I hate when you do this," Lei sighed again, but Lili only waved her hand at him and pouted her lips.

"Ohoho, you don't say. If I sleep one hour because of you, it's okay, but if it's other people, you are all grumpy." She really made fun of Lei a lot.

"Look how handsome they all are. Huobai even made it to Pann yesterday. He is as handsome as a movie star. Of course, I'll be up because of them." Lei glared at Huobai and if looks could kill, the team captain would have to be Yixing, because Huobai would be dead in a second.

"The upgrades," Bai said the second time and changed the topic, just to feel safer. Lei's phone rang, so he stepped aside to take it while Lili chuckled and started sending out the rest.

"I made you all some new armor pieces. I couldn't do much, but all of them are god-level and then, I felt bad that the main five was getting all the good stuff, so I made Huobai's staff again for Yuhuai. New god-level gloves for Wuchen and by accident I made, ehm, legendary-level spheres for Yinli." They all kept staring at her.

"How does that happen by accident?" Huobai exclaimed, totally stunned by her being so nonchalant about something like that.

"Well, as he said, I worked all night on all those things, so I was already tired. I don't know how exactly it happened, but I think I used agapanthus instead of amaranthus for the inside of the spheres and made glass with fire from a magic tree and not normal firewood… And, well, as I said, it was an accident." She shrugged it off as if nothing happened.

"Where did you get them? How?" he asked, but Lili shrugged again.

"Don't ask me, but ask the shopkeeper there," she pointed at Lei, who had just finished the call. He came closer and ignored it all.

"In a half-hour, the ceremony will start and the entire team has to be there. So get ready to come down. We will all go together." He looked at Lili, questioning in his eyes.

"Don't even ask. I think I will go and find Mimi. I'm not going anywhere near your team during the official thingies. Because I already used up all of my social battery the last time at the party. You have no idea how exhausting it was." Lei said nothing, he just nodded and hugged her, helping her to stay on her feet.

He would be actually more pleased to hear that she wanted to sleep, but no one could tell her what to do. She wouldn't listen even to him.

"You can go to sleep too if you want," he suggested, but she shook her head. Just as he thought.

"Not a chance. We are going home tomorrow. We promised Mimi to meet with her. So it needs to be done. And I've actually asked her where she is already. Because apparently, at yesterday's welcome party, we had missed each other somehow." Lei sighed and rounded up the team. They went first, while he held Lili by her hands, looking into her eyes.

"If something happens, call me. Even if nothing happens, message me you are safe," he whispered with pleading eyes that she couldn't resist. She nodded and smiled at him before tiptoeing and kissing his mouth.

It was after that that Lei's mouth widened in a beautiful yet rare smile and Lili was sure she would obey everything he said if this was her reward.
