Atsui's quirk was the only reason he hadn't been woken up, it autopilots itself but only when he is asleep heck Atsui didn't even know it automatically works.
they're were some reasonable explanations for why Atsui's quirk worked on his sleep but the best was probably protection. his quirk would attack anything or anyone who was seen as harmful but only if there was action.
so a world-renowned villain and a sleeping atsui could be in the same room but nothing would happen unless the villain tried to do something to atsui.
but this was the greatest flaw of Atsui's quirk besides the control part, as the quirk determined who was harmful by itself, and Atsui's memories but this often lead to nice people being attacked cause the quirk doesn't know who they are and even worse until the conditions are true the quirk continues to hunt.
what happens with Atsui's quirk when something or someone is deemed dangerous and has taken action, the quirk boils or freezes them till they are either unconscious or unable to move, and while it has yet to happen the quirk could kill.
the only reason this was even known was through what Atsui is currently doing, sleeping in class, the previous teacher had tried to wake Atsui from his slumber, and while Atsui knew the teacher he didn't like him so the quirk deemed him dangerous.
the teacher's entire left arm was completely turned into ice, later the arm was replaced with a mechanical one and the teacher moved to a different school.
so until Atsui woke up everybody was forced to listen to a four-year-old snore louder than a grown man and the only times Atsui wakes are in the morning and when things are convenient for him.

it was lunchtime at the point which atsui woke up, he probably wouldn't fall asleep again which was bad and good at the same time. the good things included lunch and the rest of the day, and the bad things included lunch and the rest of the day.
lunch was like every other loud and annoying but today especially considering the Dream jobs, everybody there wanted to be a hero and their reason why which was mostly talking about their favorite hero.
this talking about heroes and saying that their favorite were the best, caused problems. it aggravated all of the children there causing mass destruction of eardrums.
"NO O'CLOCK IS COOLER" it was the whine of a kid with a speed quirk (unless you read the MHA: vigilante manga you wouldn't know who I'm referring to)
"but Miss Miruko is cool" a girl was mumbling loud enough for others to hear
"ALL MIGHT'S IS OBVIOUSLY THE COOLEST" Bakugo yelled conquering all of the other's words
meanwhile, Atsui was sitting in a corner eating alone to not be bothered so he had enough energy to listen to a few more students talk about being a hero. Atsui plan to become a hero but it was the expected answer to the dream job question and if you said anything else you would be mentally ill
Atsui's dream job was to be a living air conditioner something he thought he would never say and hoped to never say in front of people. the only thing Atsui could do at that point was fake it till he made it.

lunch had ended and everyone had returned to the classroom but unlike all the others who had a lot of excitement boiling in their kindergarten bodies, Atsui was dreading having to listen to another several kids repeat the same thing word for word about being a hero.
the only difference in each speech was the favorite hero and all Atsui could do was listen as he wasted his daily nap, something he regretted the moment he woke up.
and so he listened to each of his colleague's annoying dreams of becoming a hero and beating up bad guys. the only one who had a slightly different speech was Bakugo
the first thing out of bakugo's mouth "IM GOING TO BECOME THE NUMBER ONE HERO" it wasn't a dream but a promise a very loud confident promise, bakugo's speech continued at this volume
Atsui was half expecting Bakugo to say "I'll BLOW EACH VILLAIN TO SMITHEREENS" Atsui was very confused, he just read a very intimidating bomb like a book, was Bakugo just that simple, or was Atsui just that stupid that he was on Bakugo's level
anyway, last and totally not skipped earlier in the day, it was Atsui's turn to say he wanted to become a hero and fight villains without rest.
"I want to become a hero" monotone as it could be Atsui spoke out
"Okay, why do you want to become a hero" the teacher had replied
"It pays well" guess who
"th that that's, not a good answer" the teacher replied a little baffled by the response
"who was your inspiration to become a hero" the teacher calming herself asked
"money" Atsui replied like it was the most obvious thing in the world
"that's really not a good answer" the teacher much calmer giggled to herself
"why not" it was almost as if Atsui was confused, is money, not a good motivator
"kid, heroes are supposed to save people without expecting a reward" the teacher far less serious replied before murmuring "but I understand" to herself
the teacher realized the time and let everyone go home as she had held them a few minutes too long due to having an entire class of kindergartners talk about their dream job.

on his way home, Atsui was looking for crackheads without an air conditioner who could pay a decent amount of money that wouldn't do anything weird.
or more in particular buildings that could use air conditioner though the only source of information was the outside of the building and a quick glance through each of the windows of the buildings that had them
he honestly wasn't going in the direction of home and was in the more deserted area where villains mostly stayed, but it wasn't his fault crackheads and villains were both in the slums.
Atsui already had payers printed with his phone number (the phone of which he begged for) and a living air conditioner for hire in all caps. so all he needed to do was spreading them and make a schedule and he'd be done

people really wanted air conditioning, before Atsui was done hanging up all the papers he already had a customer, a bar owner's Ac unit broke down, and due to not having an Ac unit no more customers are coming in.
the only condition Atsui had set was to be quiet and he would be paid 920 yen an hour (7 dollars USD) or the minimum wage.
