17. Cyrus Announced to Cora

****

Cyrus entered the highest tower where Theodore and Cora were seated on their throne.

The moment he had breezed out words from his mouth to brief them of what happened in the wood, Cora waved him quietly by the gesture of her hand. She needed not to be briefed about what happened nor was Theodore needed to be briefed.

"We saw everything," She claimed.

Even Theodore had not been that concerned about what happened or what did not happen. He already knew about the children of Livee as their history foretold, they always find a way to come back and twice as much had he seen since the stone age. The more he killed them, the more another group of the livee will resurface.

For this, what remained a priority to Theodore at this moment was the wooden cup in his hand filled with blood as he drank slowly from it.

Theodore was not the only one enjoying the refreshment of this blood, Cora was also enjoying the blood of the harvest of the same human. This human was bonded in chains nearest to them.

The human they consumed was part of the harvest brought to the coven by the turns, particularly by Geraldine.

Though the instructions had been that they shall have the blood into their bags and present them as harvest for the keep. There was no more time to fetch each blood as the turns were interrupted by the Vam hunters and escaped lest they were chopped off at the head.

Each turned also bears loyalty to the coven. It was so that when they were turned, the victims could not think of anything else than satisfying their cravings and as they are more used to consuming blood, they are more loyal to the originals and they will only do as they have been instructed since they felt connected to them from within.

That Theodore wanted to enjoy his evening, he had not wanted to infect the human yet. He stiffened his nail into smaller claws and shredded the victim's wrist so that his blood would pour out of his body from his wrist even when he had not bitten into him yet.

At this moment, the human had already become unconscious because he had lost too much blood but it did not mean he was dead yet. He was not and verily he would soon be turned.

"But we have them all perished like the burning flies at the temple of Livee" Cyrus reminded.

"From what I have seen, those feminine punks have a way of coming back. They dont die completely. It only takes them a matter of time to resurface." Theodore explained passing his wooden cup to Cora so she would have a little more sip of the blood.

She scoffed before she gulped down a large quantity of blood from her cup before she accepted that of Theodore. When she passed him the cup again, it was already empty.

"Those piglets will not cause us trouble again," she said.

At this moment, Cyrus sauntered to the human only to look at him in the face and tickle him with his claws perhaps to wake him and then scare him.

His eyes have also turned raven. But the human could not even see all of these.

"He still sleeps," Cora said, seeing what Cyrus was doing.

By the word sleep, Cyrus understood what Cora meant. It does not mean he was sleeping but that there was only a little blood remaining in him before he would be drained completely.

At this moment he walked to the corner of the chamber and grabbed one of the jars and sufficed it with blood from the human.

"Fresh blood!" He sighed.

Theodore could no longer hear the human heartbeat ringing to his ear. Same as Cora who had stopped to hear the continuous beating of the human heart. It was such that the human was dead. Cyrus had drained him completely when he served his jar with his blood for a second time. .

"What?" He crafted his face nonchalantly when he saw Cora looking at him.

"You can't have all of that for yourself alone," Theodore answered with his soft voice. But it had not changed anything, Cyrus still drank and paced around the chamber looking for words to say.

This made the human look pale and dying. But even if he would die completely, he wouldn't be dead for long because Theodore had already risen to his feet and walked to where they chained him down.

At first, he looked at him for nothing longer than three minutes. This did not mean that he only looked at him and did not say anything.

"This one shall make a good soldier." He noted.

The reason Theodore had said this could not be far fetched. The human was indeed the agile one: a man with an able body, muscular and tall.

But he had not been a fair looking one, he was black with thus an ugly face.

Indeed, Theodore had no usefulness for the face of his subjects. All he needed was their numbers to fulfil his wishes and satisfy his hunger.

Theodore had not wasted more time staring at the dying human; he had lifted his head gently into his arm as he already knelt beside him and caressed his neck once again. At this time, Cora and Cyrus watched him turn the human into a vampire.

Even as the human was dead when Theodore stung his fang into his skin, he drew in breath suddenly as if from a shock and he felt paralysed at once until his infection was complete.

He was able to become one of the living dead: a turned faster than how others would have turned because Theodore who stung him was an elder and particular from the olden days older than any other vampire in Petra.

He had continued to breathe heavily as he rose sluggishly to his feet. His neck, which had the sign of Theodore's bite, was already closing up and he sauntered his eyes through the chamber.

He saw Theodore who was yet beside him and Cora and Cyrus at a distance. He had also seen Cyrus craft his face in a silly manner. But it had not occurred to him that Cyrus was making a mockery of his situation.

His weak self had not even been conscious of who they were. Though he had seen them he could not comprehend who they were or where he was. Everything that mattered to him was the hunger eating up his stomach

Cyrus was still drinking from his jar when Theodore had left the newly infected human alone. At this moment, Theodore, Cora and Cyrus all stood together studying him as his reaction was still happening so fast and in a painless manner.

It was now at this time that his canine teeth at the upper jaws and the lower jaws grew out from his other set of teeth and his eyes were clouded with blackness. But this did not mean he wielded strength in this instance. He still crumbled in weakness and hunger.

When his reaction was complete, the little Theodore's blood in him was not enough for him to survive. His hunger for blood became too much than before. This made him head to Cyrus since he perceived blood in the jar he was drinking from.

But Cyrus was not willing to share. When he staggered closer to Cyrus. At first, he stared at his face while Cyrus waited to see what he was going to do.

But if his dry mouth or his weak finger would have touched even the brim of the jar, it was a lie as at this moment, before he could stretch his arm, Cyrus already hit him in the stomach for his pleasure. Even if he had been strong enough and sprinted against Cyrus, it did not mean he would be able to take the jar from him.

"Look for your food or die from your hunger" Cryus warned as he hit his head against the wall before he finally threw him out of the tower window.

"Assemble the others, find the witches, we are killing them all," Theodore instructed.
