35. Cyrus to the Coven

Theodore and Cora could feel the wave of unrest coming to them. They understood more than any Vampire around them that It was time they must get ready for war.

And as it has happened before that whenever something terrible was about to happen, Theodore could feel a strange feeling within himself.

It would be either his ear begins to straighten itself when it heard very distant footsteps approaching the coven or that his emotions were troubled whenever something was about to happen.

Though Cora felt this as well, it did not stop her from pleasing Theodore sexually. she pacified him and she stung him and he enjoyed the pleasing sensation of her cold teeth.

At Cyrus' arrival at the coven, Cora and Theodore were still butt naked with each other and were sucked into each other's neck.

Cora was seated on Theodore's thighs and Theodore held a cup in his tender palm as he sucked from Cora's neck gently and slowly, he would also drink a larger portion of blood from his wooden cup.

This did not mean Cora also held a cup in her hand. It only meant they both shared from the same cup and once they finished the blood in the cup, Cora refilled it to the brim from the harvest.

Neither Cora nor Theodore was ashamed of their bareness when their son interrupted their pleasure. Also, Cyrus was not shy to behold their faces and his gaze interpreted his boldness capturing both of them from head to toe.

To him, this had meant nothing and delivering the news of his accomplishment was a bigger priority.

Since he walked inside, he had not made himself a stranger and he served himself a cup of blood from the harvest.

This also revealed that he dropped Geraldine's heart on the table near the harvest and Cora at this moment walked slowly to the wooden table and first sniffed the heart.

"You are my son after all." She said with a gentle smile crafting on her face.

"Only if your sister had also been like you, all of us would be one undefeatable family." She concluded.

But her words had caused some mood among the three of them. Though they did not say anything, deep down they wished Cora would not have brought Adeline into the conversation.

"It was her choice to rebel and so she is no longer with us." Theodore interrupted the prolonging silence.

"I trust you enjoyed her savoury …anyway?" She asked delightedly, holding Geraldine's heart in her hands as she licked it with her tongue.

Theodore though did not rise from his seat, he had also sniffed from a little distance and thus perceived the smell of Geraldine's heart which matches Geraldine's blood.

But he had not said any words to Cyrus. After all, she was only a turned and it is not praiseworthy that an original defeated a turned or group of turns. It was expected to be that way.

This only made Theodore instantly speed to where Cyrus was standing and he stood beside him. Though it did not mean Cyrus could see Theodore's movement when he sped toward him, it only meant that his speed had been instantaneous to the extent that Cyrus could not capture any of his movement.

"Gather the turns and let them see this as an example of what befalls them if they fail us again," Cora voiced looking directly and maliciously at the heart in her hand as she licked it again before throwing it back into Cyrus' hand.

All of the turns were gathered at the lower floor of the coven since it was the only place they were allowed to be and if any of them would be needed for a specific function, he or she would be invited.

Once Cyrus stepped down the stairs, his presence was announced as he whistled and hummed unpopular rhymes of the olden days.

Before he made known his presence, the turns' eyes were shut and they were silent. This did not mean they were asleep, it only meant they were not hungry since they have already fed from those they harvested.

And once they heard Cyrus' whistle, they were summoned into consciousness and automatically accorded him respect and paved his way among them.

They gathered around him and heard his words even when they lacked sympathy or empathy. They obeyed the instruction for a new leader of the turns in search of the hiding of the witches.

It was in this strength that Cyrus lifted his hand and revealed Geraldine's heart to them.

There was no remorse among them, neither was their amusement among them. They all waited for the next order from him and stared only at the heart in his heart.

"You! Come forward." He said pointing his finger at Aponi.

"You will take the place of your daughter." He said again.

But if Aponi remembered she had a daughter was a lie. Her only priority was her obedience to the originals and her hunger whenever she perceived blood.

When Aponi came forward among the rest of the turns. Cyrus only walked more to her and pulled her by her hair. At this moment, he looked into her eyes closed and strangled her neck with the same strength.

"Go! find the witches. Most importantly, make the same mistake your daughter made and I shall enjoy the taste of your blood as I did with her," he whispered directly into her ears as he finally released her.

To wait another moment would be termed a pride against the originals and verily, in the twinkle of an eye, she and a few turns already sped out of the coven in search of the witches' location.

"Cyrus … Cyrus … come! What you wanted awaits you."

Another loud whisper interrupted Cyrus again and if he pretended not to have heard these words was a lie as he finally dashed out of the coven into the woods towards the direction of the voice.

"Show yourself," he said as he shot his gaze towards a glowing light he could now see from a little distance.
