Chapter 3.

The next day I woke up early and took a warm bath then dressed up. I checked my box one more time before I locked it up. I walked to my little mirror hanging on the wall, applied my powder and lipstick, then brush my hair down to my buttocks.

Soon I was done , I rushed down to the kitchen to make breakfast only to find mum dishing the food out.

"good morning mom" I greeted as I pecked her cheeks. "good morning honey" she returned the kiss. "you are all set?" she asked, surprised to see me already dressed at 6am. I nodded as I chew my food. "you really want to go?" "yeah mom" I replied. She took a seat besides me and took my left hand. "baby, I have a bad feeling about this. You can stay if you want to". I looked at her and smiled. She is just so over protective of me. "mom, I really want to do this, you know we've never done this before, please don't make me say no to him and I have a feeling that he will propose to me". She squeezed her face and looked away.

"proposal you say? I must tell you the truth, he is not a good guy and will not make a good husband" I shook my head, she's trying to poison my mind but I won't let that happen.

"since you are all bubbling to go, why didn't he wait for you? Why did he leave without you?" she made a point but I have answers to all of it. "mum I told you that he have something important to take care of. He is going to Dubai to work, that's why he couldn't wait for me. But he said to call him once I arrive at the airport" I answered and sipped my coffee.

"he said to call him once you arrive at the airport so that he could clean up his mess and cover his tails. He is never a good guy" I won't deny that what mummy said didn't get me upset. It pierced my heart to hear her call my Andrew a cheat. She may not have said it aloud, but it still hurts me.

"baby, I am your mother and I know what's good for you okay?" I nodded and looked at her, she had tears in her eyes. Is she crying because i'm going to meet Andrew? I didn't know she is this serious about him. I still won't change my mind.

"mum, I am running late and Cordis might be waiting for me. Do not worry, I will come back safe and in one piece okay?" she sighed and kissed my forehead. She prayed for me and bade me goodbye.

I didn't see my dad before leaving, maybe he left early today. I shrugged it off and took my bags with me.

Since I will be leaving the country, I saw no need to take my mother's car. I flagged down a taxi to transport me to the airport.

Cordis and her boyfriend Louis were waiting for me at the entrance.

"I'm so sorry I arrive late, was discussing with mum" I pleaded as soon as I approached them. "it's okay, we just arrived that's why you still met us outside" Cordis replied. I went over to her and kissed her cheeks in greetings and her boyfriend's too.

"let's go in already, you know this whole thing takes time, I do not want to miss my flight" Cordis lamented and we all walked in to the receptionists or whatever they're called to submit our passports.

After we settled in on our seats, I told Cordis everything I discussed with mum. When I was through, she suggests that I listen to my mum this once. She said she trusts Andrew, but to prove my mum wrong we should do as she said and see the outcome. Somehow I was not comfortable with the idea but I had to play along. I only agreed to it so that I can show my mum how wrong she is about Andrew.

We're about to take off so Cordis took my phone and sent Andrew a quick text saying I am on my way to the airport and will text him before boarding the plane. His reply came sooner than I expected, he sent okay dear, see you tonight then. I smiled and switched off my phone.

The air hostess came to us and demands that we fasten our seatbelts for safety. We did as instructed before I heard the plane roared to life and made its way out of the airport.

Minutes later, Louis was playing music with his cellphone while I closed my eyes and tried to get some sleep. I was on my way to heaven when I felt Cordis's hands tapping me in attempt to wake me up.

"do you know the hotel Andrew booked?" she asked as soon as she saw my eyes wide open looking at her. "no I don't" I told her. She hit my laps. "idiot, how can we surprise him if we do not know the name of the hotel?" I scratched my head and sank back into my seat.

"anyways Louis booked the same hotel so we could stay close" I smiled and thanked her. "so, how is Reverend mother Mary?" she always refer to Mary as Reverend Mother Mary. That I don't know why. Cordis never like Mary, I do not know what experience they've had in the past or the reason behind the pure hatred for Mary. But Mary is a good girl.

"Mary is fine, you know she went home to visit her father this Christmas. She called me this morning and said she is fine" "okay". She nodded and let me rest'

I've not slept for three hours when she woke me up again. I almost shouted at her but I controlled myself.

"what is it Cordy?" her name is Cordis but I like to call her cordy.

"I'm hungry" her stomach rumbled as she said that.

"oh, should I ask the hostess to get you something to eat?" "no" she shook her head. "you wanna starve then?" she looked at me and sigh "you have a dull brain" I know that I have a dull brain that's why I didn't drag the issue with her.

"look, I know by now the air hostess are sleeping, so it's our chance to get into the first class and see what's going on in there"

first class? I thought about it and agreed. So we left Louis and sneaked in to the first class. To tell the truth, the whole place looks different from our economy class.

The economy class is overcrowded but the first class is reserved and neat. The air conditioner is so different from the one in economy class. "So, let's eat" cordy said when she found out that they were barely up to ten and were all sleeping.

She went towards the left while I started from my right. I am in the first class seats so I deserve to eat the best of the best. She picked a glass of wine and gulped it down.

I continued checking from table to table to see if anything attracts my attention, but none did. I moved to the next table till I stopped at the first row. There I saw a man resting his head on the window. He covered his face with a newspaper. It was a funny sight, so I called cordy's attention. Before she could get to the seat, I took away the newspapers to see his face. Then I noticed it was not just a man but a young guy.

"he is beautiful" was the first thing that left my mouth as soon as cordy came to me. She wore a sad look on her face, she landed a soft knock on my head.

"Why did you touch him?" she asked. "I didn't touch him, I just took off his paper to see his face" I told her.

"baby you could have woken him up with that and he would have dialed the emergency number, they will bundle us up and label us as thieves".

I knew cordy have a point, why didn't I think of it before. "I can sit down right?" I asked and she smacked my head. "how can you sit when we came to steal huh?" yet again she has a point. I took a sip of the wine in his glass it was bitter, probably alcohol. I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand and dropped the glass on the table. Then I saw a small briefcase, I grabbed it and opened it. It was filled with papers. There were lots and lots of papers.

"Useless office papers" I muttered and placed the papers back into the box. I was about keeping it back when he suddenly turned and I lost balance. Every piece of paper in the box flew out and scattered all around the room. "Oh no, what have I done?" I went on my knees and started picking them. Some got stained in the process, others were torn, stained with wine only a few were safe.

I was picking it when the guy woke up. When his eyes landed on me, I thought I was going to die. His green eyes are something I have never seen before.

"What are you doing here?!" his voice thundered. I hastily picked the last papers and fixed it into the box. I dropped the box on his seat but he grabbed my neck and twisted his hands that I started to choke in his hands.

"Let go of me sir, please. I was just looking around. I didn't mean to wake you up" I said amidst tears. When cordy came she pleaded with him before he let go of me. As soon as he let go, I ran out not waiting to hear what he has to say. He could dial the emergency button and that will be the end of me.

Cordy and I went back to the Economy class while looking out for securities or hostesses.

Ten minutes later, a flight attendant came and asks us to buckle up our seatbelts. I fastened my seat belt and rested my head on the chair.

""Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Dubai" blasted through the intercom. I opened my eyes and truly, we've arrived at Dubai, the most expensive city in the nation.

We grabbed our boxes and headed straight to the exit door.

"So, where do we go from here? Should I call Andrew?" I asked no one in particular but Cordis disregarded the idea. She said we will just show up at his door.

"okay". That's the only language I know how to speak.

Louis helped carry Cordis bag while I drag mine. 'If only Andrew is here, he would help me carry my luggage'. I muttered as I drag my luggage with me.

We're at the bus stop waiting for a taxi. Luckily Cordis sighted a Taxi and made towards it. "Come on let's ride that one" she squealed and walked towards it. I made to follow them but later decided against it. They're a couple and they need their private time. I boarded the next Taxi.

"Follow them mister" I told the taxi driver. "Yes ma'am". He replied and brought the engine to life.
