"What do you know about the attack on my son Zantar a few weeks ago?" Zamir asked while keeping his gaze locked on the blazing scarlet eyes of Hakari like he didn't want to see even the slightest movement from him.
So this is Hakari Keni, the Asuran Prince of the Kenji Family and one of the strongest people of the younger generation of the Federation of Darkness.
I've long heard about the next monster of the Kenji Family. At first, I wasn't that interested in him, the only people who caught my eye from that family were Treysin and Luna, everyone else was completely irrelevant. But that all changed when that massacre two years ago occurred when the Count and Marquis level houses across all the clans of the Federation were being completely wiped out.
I initiated a secret investigation on my own behind my husband's back. This is a secret to everyone except for a select few people in this room but my intelligence network is one of the fastest in the Federation. I usually used this to get information that I could use as leverage in deals and blackmail. When I got the news that the group that was responsible for the attacks was the Hei, the Kenji Families' secret force I became interested. This group is very feared and efficient, even with my vast network I was only able to learn about their existence by sheer luck.
But as I drew deeper into the investigation and reports fear crept into my soul when I found out that the Hei were barely involved in most of the killings. They were watching over the main killer who seemed to be a twelve-year-old boy. He was the one who did most of the killing as most of the victims who were not in the Realm of Dao were between the Realm of Arcana Condensation and Core Formation, the elders and leaders of these houses who were in the Realm of Dao were killed by members of the Hei.
The massacre made me feel I was watching the demons of the Nine Hells at work. By the time I found out that the boy who could slaughter like this fellow bat an eye was scion the of the Kenji Family I realized that I fell into a scheme. I found the head of my informant, who was the one giving me the information regarding the incident laying on my desk. I still remember the chill down my spine as I saw the fear and despair in his eyes, it didn't take long for me to find out his death was not quick.
After that day I put the Asuran Prince on my radar. But there was no trace of him for two years after that, the closest thing I got was that his brother Rizen was going to attend Essentia Academy. When I found out that Hakari would be a part of the new entrees of this year's class I knew I couldn't lose this chance, I immediately contacted my daughter who was already in the academy, and assigned her to watch him and establish a relationship with him if possible.
I had no idea that she had a history with RIzen. If I knew this before then this would've been even easier. Siana told me that the aura she felt from Hakari when she saw him was different from any Black Dragon she had met before, I told her to probe him, and the burst of aura I felt from him on the screen had my instincts screaming in fear.
I don't know what kind of monster this child in front of me is but one thing I am sure of is that he is not a Black Dragon.
"I don't know much, to be honest except for the basic knowledge due to the flow of information being sealed. Zantar was attacked at the Royal Parliament headquarters and was crippled due to the ambush, at least that's what the rumors say." Hakari replied in a solemn tone but everyone in the room could see the amusement and laughter deep in his eyes.
Zamari gritted his teeth to calm himself down before he lashed out. Kirean didn't kill that devil because we don't know his background yet but if Zamir decides to attack Hakari, Treysin and Kirean won't hold back.
"You have my condolences, Duke Valerian. While Zantar was an arrogant, lustful, and degenerate scum that deserved to be crippled as even death wouldn't be enough for that bastard from a neutral standpoint the Federation lost a genius." Said Hakari in a mournful tone that had even confused if he was being sincere or if he was saying that just to make Zamir angry.
Even Zamir was conflicted on how to react to Hakari's words. Nothing he said was wrong everything he said was correct, actually, Zantar was a lot worse than the things Hakari just named and we were all happy that he was crippled but we did not dare show our true feelings. Only someone like Hakari who had no filter could say such things regardless of the consequences.
"What? Don't give me that look, you're acting like everyone in this room didn't think the same if not worse. I was generous with my words just now don't mistake it for kindness. I'm willing to bet my life that everyone in this room had plans to have Zantar killed regardless of Royal protection. After all, if they can't find out the culprit what is there to fear." Hakari continued with a smile on his handsome face while the rest of us stared at him in shock and fear.
How does he know this?!
"But I digress. That is not why I'm here. As ruthless as I am I'm a pretty chill dude. As long as nobody is dumb enough to cross me why would I seek problems with people, especially if they are stronger than me."
"Then why are you here?" Kordri asked, speaking his first words as he has been silent ever since Hakari walked in.
Hakari looked at him with a smile as he put his feet up on the conference table, leaned back in his chair, and put his hand behind his head as he closed his eyes, "Didn't any of you guys hear me when I first walked in? I'm very clear when I speak so I'm guessing that age is finally catching up to you guys. I said I need to take a break and relax. I've been doing nothing but killing for the past two weeks. And what better way to relax than to watch the powers of the Federation go at it and watch the students of the academy commit atrocities to fulfill their sick desires and sin to their heart's content."
