Chapter 15: The Me Beyond the Mirror

When Russell opened his eyes again, he found himself back in that holy hall.

It looked like a corridor of a cathedral.

The midday sun shone from the side, passing through parts of the glass walls colored like stained glass, casting ever-shifting, rainbow-colored light on the floor.

More sunlight streamed in from somewhere else, illuminating the entire hall with unparalleled brightness. But when Russell lowered his head, he could not even see his own shadow.

This was not a complete building, just a corridor.

One side was adorned with stained glass, the other with many portraits. Some portraits were covered with heavy red cloths, while others had already been uncovered.

The entire corridor was constructed with pure white stone bricks, with silver-white candlesticks placed at intervals, along with ivory-white walls and ceiling.

Those candlesticks were calmly burning with pale flames. Yet, even the candlesticks themselves cast no shadows.
