Chapter 16: Mirror within a Mirror

Russell was silent.

—He truly couldn't be sure.

He even began to wonder...was he the Demon?

Because no matter what, the Russell in the mirror always seemed more real. He could express the same emotions while playing different roles... but Russell could not.

Whomever he portrayed, he became.

From this perspective, Russell was just one of the roles he played.

So, what was his true nature?

Apart from any role, what was he, really?

"We are nothing but shells. Mere empty containers of God, mirrors reflecting every face and desire."

The Russell in the mirror looked at his counterpart outside the glass caught in a moment of panic and confusion, and he sighed, "When two mirrors face each other, what do they see?"

—"Infinity."

The two Russells answered in unison.

As Russell caught up with the rhythm of his mirrored self, a terrifying premonition gradually rose from within him.

Through the dialogue between the two, he seemed to be...understanding "God's container."
