Something is off

"Come on, Mitch. I have been with you for so long. Don't pretend to be an angel." A figure in black appeared, standing right next to her.

"Spit it out, Damian," she said as the guy came out of the darkness into clear view. He had been observing everything, and nothing could go out of his way in his pack.

"So, what's your plan? Are you going to keep him here? That's the assignment I gave you. Don't disappoint me!" Damian changed his demeanor and said indifferently. He had his agenda on the mother and the son. As for Alicia, she was dragged into the mess. He didn't care whether she lived on or. He wanted the mother and son alive no matter what.

"Come on, Alpha, you know. I never disappoint. Ill deliver as promised. But you have to fulfill what you promised as well." She looked at him and took a step forward. Throwing a kiss his way.

"Of course. But tonight, you satisfy me as always." He pulled her close to him, holding her waist. The seductress smiled and threw her hands on his chest. "Of course. Why not. That's our agreement for years. I am all yours whenever you need me."

Damian released her and disappeared back into the darkness

All this while, a figure captured it all in his beautiful red eyes. But there was a surprise, disappointment, and fear at that moment. He disguised himself well not to get caught. He saw Mitchel and Jason in the woods. It was interesting.

He saw the guards being paid to rape and kill Alicia, and now it seems the Alpha and the Gamma have more plots on their sleeves. This was getting more interesting.

He swiftly jumped from the hiding spot, disappearing into the woods as if he had never appeared in the first place.

No one knew what was coming. The storm had been brewing in different areas all this time. A powerful existence choreographed all the misfortune they encountered with the help of a few followers. This is for later.

Jason helped Alicia change clothes and take a bath. This time, he was gentle and sorry. After a brief meeting between him and himself, he saw something he didn't see before.

He couldn't shake off the feeling that something big was going to happen or it was happening in the dark. He wanted to get to the bottom of everything.

He checked on Alicia's bite, but it was healing. She was turning.

The sweat and the fever were all too terrible. He didn't expect her to turn to be troublesome. He didn't leave her side for the next few days and invited his mom to check on her. Miriam didn't show any emotion on her face when healing and assisting Alicia.

She looked like a robot. Jason tried to understand her feelings, but she had shut down. The only thing she said was, 'I am fine.

"Mom. There is something I want to discuss with you. In private." Jason enhanced hearing could detect a strange movement in his residence for days. That further amplified his thoughts, "can you insulate the room?" he asked, and Miriam raised an eyebrow but did it anyway.

"What's the matter," she asked, sitting down and looking at her son. Jason joined her on the sofa and dropped carelessly.

"Something is off. I have had time to think about the series of events. Whatever is happening is too much to be a coincidence. Don't you think it could be planned?" Jason started looking at his mom. Miriam had her eyes open, and a glint flashed past her eyes. She knew something

"Look. The different creatures appeared in DustVille all of a sudden. I get bit. The killings and then these weird shadows are taking over people's bodies. I am telling you, mom. That's too much of a coincidence."

Miriam thought back to the appearance of the hunters. It was too much of a coincidence as well. She didn't say anything out loud but had her doubts as well.

"You are right. There is something I didn't tell you as well. Something is going on here. I can feel dark forces here. I have tried to play dump observing, but it's hard to pinpoint what it is. You may be right. A storm is brewing, and we may be in the middle of it. This is not the time to think of revenge. Focus on being alive. Now go rest. You have been with her all this time without sleeping. I will reinforce the room. No one shall disturb you for eight hours," Miriam said to her son, standing on her feet and taking her to leave.

Jason was stunned, looking at the retreating figure. He turned to look at the Sleeping Alicia and joined her in bed. Covered in a blanket, he didn't know how he fell asleep.

Outside someone tried to enter the room in silence but could not infiltrate.

Nobody knew there was an intruder in the pack house. Not even the all-knowing Alpha Damian. Everyone was busy with their own stuff. Most of the pack members were training. While Damian had a meeting about a seemingly attack going on in the neighboring towns.

A guy in the crown was looking at Damian and Mitchel for a long time. There was a hint of interest in his eyes. It was like looking at his prey. Enjoying the entertainment, the two were playing in the pack.

"Alpha. What does it have to do with us, what the humans go through?" Carly asked, not interested. He had lost his vitality. Ever since h encountered the interesting exchange between the Alpha and the Gamma, his view had changed. He looked at them differently. There was disinterest, but still, he respected the Alpha.

"Because they are within our territory, we have to protect them from the incoming danger." He said, looking at Carly. Damian had noticed the slight indifference from his beta. Their connection was strong. Sometimes he could feel his fear and sadness. He didn't know what was going on and didn't ask. He wanted to find time to do so.

A shadow was moving on the meeting room wall, but no one noticed. It slowly transformed into smoke and entered the ventilation hole.
