RED SCARF AROUND HIS NECK

Lycia looked greedy when she asked for a scholarship when the director had already offered her double salary, but there was a reason behind her request.

'If I get a scholarship to continue my studies abroad, then I will have reasons to refuse the arranged marriage arranged by my parents. At least I can postpone that stupid wedding.'

It was a devious idea that popped into her head when she was about to say yes to the double salary seduction, but luckily, the director immediately agreed to her request.

'How much did the people from the Clayton family invest in this hospital to make Mr. Petersmith immediately agree to give me a full scholarship?'

Thinking about it, Lycia was sure that she wasn't a scheming person here. The hospital director was more cunning than her.

Even if she was used by the director to get more money for the hospital, Lycia didn't regret her decision. 'If the hospital gets more money, then it could help more people in the future,' she thought to herself before she finally agreed with the director's plans.

It was a simple thought running through her little head, but she already felt better when she thought about it.

She even smiled as she kept telling herself that she had made a good decision, and the steps she took felt very light as she walked down the hospital corridor.

Walking in front of her was the Clayton couple, and walking beside her was Clayton's young master, Davel Clayton.

Glancing at the man next to her, she secretly envied the man's perfection. Not only had a super handsome face, but the man also had a tall and proportional body. When Lycia walked beside him, she could see that her height barely reached the man's shoulders when she wasn't wearing high heels.

Lycia was actually not short as she was about 170cm tall, but Davel's height was probably close to 190cm at this point.

'Handsome, tall, and rich. No wonder girls gather around him like how ants gather around sugar,' she pouted while secretly envious of the man's perfection.

They had walked from the VIP ward, and they finally arrived at the elevator that would take them down to the underground parking lot. They were currently on the 10th floor, and they stopped in front of the elevator before Davel's father pressed the button with the arrow pointing downwards.

They could see that the elevator was moving from the top floor to the tenth floor, and they were patiently waiting for the elevator doors to open.

"What are we doing here?"

A question suddenly broke the silence, and Lycia finally turned to the person who had just asked the question.

It was young master Davel who had just said the question, and Lycia raised her eyebrows as she replied, "We are waiting for the elevator doors to open before we can descend into the underground parking lot."

"Elevator?" Davel parroted like an innocent child asking his parents about something he did not know.

At that moment, Lycia almost slapped her forehead because she just remembered that Davel had lost his memory. But, before she could explain about the elevator to the young man, the elevator door suddenly opened, causing her to automatically grab Davel's hand and pull the man to follow the man's parents.

The elevator wasn't empty, and the three people in it immediately stared at Davel upon realizing that the man was superstar Davel Clayton.

Lycia almost slapped her forehead a second time when she realized Davel was famous, and people would surely disturb the man's peace of mind if they recognized the man.

Having no choice, she then rummaged through her handbag before taking something out from inside. Without saying anything, she then put a red scarf around Davel's neck, and she purposely covered half of the man's face with the scarf.

After that, she turned to the people and smiled at them, "Hello, I'm Davel's assistant, and we're here because Davel caught a cold. Can you keep it a secret? We don't want to make his fans worry about him."

Just like a professional assistant of a famous celebrity, Lycia explained the situation to the three people in the elevator. One of them was even on her way to get her cell phone out of her bag, but she stopped her movements after hearing Lycia's words.

In the end, the three people could only nod their heads obediently. Smiling at them, Lycia then turned to Davel again, only to find the man's body shivering uncontrollably.

Leaning toward the taller man, she then whispered, "Are you okay? Are you scared because the elevator is moving? Don't worry, this thing is safe, and it will take us to our car in the parking lot. Just close your eyes and trust me, okay?"

Lycia carefully comforted the man, and the young man looked at her before following her instructions to close his eyes. Seeing how obedient the man was, Lycia couldn't help but think that the man did look like an innocent child.

The elevator stopped moving on the ground floor, and Davel had already opened his eyes and was about to leave if Lycia hadn't grabbed his wrist. "We'll be out as soon as we get to the underground parking lot. It's only the ground floor now," she explained patiently.

Lycia said the word 'underground,' and she could see how Davel's eyes widened in surprise, maybe he thought they were going to some dangerous place or something.

Unbeknownst to the two of them, Davel Clayton's parents watched their interaction in silence. Small smiles appeared on their faces, but they didn't say anything until the elevator reached the basement.
