Chapter 20

It was three in the afternoon and Okara had finally awoken from his slumber. As he found himself in Kal's hut he looked around and found no one else around him. Instinctively he walked outside and noticed Bell's truck gone. But Kal is out in the distance to his left. Okara quickly went back inside and put on his gi and headed over to Kal.

"Ah! You're awake. That's good, we thought you'd be sleeping in all day."

"I wish I did." Okara says with a yawn.

"Don't worry about it. That trial was not meant for the weak. To pass it is quite an accomplishment. So sleep was a well-deserved reward."

"I guess so... Hey? What are you doing?"

"Oh! This? It's what we earthlings call fishing."

"Fishing?"

"Mhm, you catch a creature that swims in this body of water. Then we cook it and eat it."

Okara looks confused but slowly goes along with it.

"This is your training, catch five fish in this lake."

"Is that all?"

"Yup sure is."

Okara begins walking towards the medium-sized lake.

"Wait! You might want to remove your gi."

"Oh?"

"See I don't have another with me right now and you'd have nothing to wear if you got it wet."

"I see, okay then!"

Okara quickly got undressed to nothing, but his underwear.

"Now remember five fish. Oh and if you happen to find a golden one. Catch it as well."

"A golden fish?"

"Yes, they are super rare. But their meat is exquisite."

"Alright! This will be easy peasy!"

Kal smirked as he watched Okara dive in, watched the rippling water calm. Slowly as time passed he saw a silhouette appear from the water and watched it emerge. Okara had a grip on the tail of a fish.

"I got one!" Okara shouted as he struggled to hold the giant blue fish's tail.

"Now get it onto land!"

Okara tried to adjust his grip on the fish's tail, however, it instantly forced its way out of his hands and back into the water.

"Aw! Man!" Okara slapped the water around him.

"You have till the end of the week. But you must catch one before the end of the night."

Kal turned and walked away letting Okara focus on his training.

"Remember, Cassa's relying on me to save her! I have to do my best and get stronger!"

Okara takes a deep breath and dives back in. Kal stops and smirks as he looks back then continues back into his hut. Time passed as Okara continued grabbing at fish and struggling to get them on land. It had been three hours as he continued his training. Still standing with no fish in his capture.

"Damn it! What am I doing wrong!"

Slowly Kal emerges to check on his progress.

"What seems to be the matter, Okara?"

"I've tried over and over, yet I haven't been able to catch a single damn fish!"

"I see, tell me Okara. What do you think you're doing wrong?"

"Well, I don't know."

"Sure you do. Just take a moment and think."

Okara stopped and floated in the water. Thinking about what he was doing.

"Wait, you only said catch five fish."

"Yes, I did. What are you getting at?"

"All this time I've been trying to use my physical strength."

Kal slightly smirked as he listened to Okara.

"But you never said-!"

Okara's eyes widen as he slowly smirked. Then

"I finally understand now... I set myself to only do what I think is right. Instead of doing what is necessary."

Okara's green aura started swirling around his body causing the water around him to also start swirling like a whirlpool.

"Mm."

Okara then looked down into the whirlpool as he kept his Ki control in check, and dashed down into the water grabbing at where a fish would be swimming. As he gripped within the water he instantly pulled back and launched a fish out of the water and onto land. Right in front of Kal's feet. Okara continued, but went deeper and grabbed hold of two more fish. However, as he did he saw something darting at him in the water. As he tried to look at it he noticed it was different than a fish. Okara dashed upwards out of his whirlpool with a giant bluefish in each hand. Quickly he tossed them onto land stacking them in front of Kal and watched downwards as a giant lake serpent lunged out of the water at him. It was yellow with red beady eyes and a rugged jaw. With a wide row of teeth that gleamed at him as it reached for him.

"Okara! That's a giant eel! If it bites you it'll paralyze you! Be careful!"

"Don't worry, Master! I won't let this stupid beast! (Okara cocks back his left leg.) Get in the way of my training!"

As it got closer its jaw unhinged and opened to bite Okara. As it reached him he vanished from its clasping Jaw and appeared by its right side.

"Eat this!"

Okara unloaded his left leg and drove his shin against the giant eel. Sending it flying into the further out part of the lake. Or at least that's what Okara thought. He had used so much power it shot it past the lake and onto the other side of the forest. Smashing downing a bunch of trees and causing a flock of birds to fly from those trees. Okara swiftly landed onto land and his whirlpool calmed.

"Whoops... Guess I overshot." Okara said silly as he turned towards Kal. Who had a shocked expression on his face?

"W-What? Master? Are you okay?"

Night had come and Okara found himself cooking the fish on a campfire with Kal.

"So, master. Where did Bell go anyway?"

Kal looked at Okara as the fire shaded over him with its orange color.

"She told me she went to find Rose's lab."

"Rose's... Lab?!"
