On the first Full moon of March, when the moon is at its highest peak, all unmated shifters must run into the woods from the Maverick and Sweetwater packs in search of a mate. Shifters chase down their fated mate and claim them under the moonlight.

For Asa, the run is the day he has been looking forward to all of his life. He is excited to be mated until an unfortunate encounter at the edge of the woods pushes him into peril. His life has turned upside down as he faces something he never thought he would, an injury and two shifters who want him. 

Chris didn't look forward to the run. As his last run, thankfully, he could finally melt back into obscurity. He just wants to make sure he gets out of the woods, unattached, and gets on with his life until he catches a light Lilac scent. Suddenly, he finds himself falling head over heels for his mate. His only goal now is to protect Asa, no matter what.

THE CHASE

War didn’t move the way that people expected. It certainly didn’t start the way that Chris expected. He expected that as soon as the other pack declared war, it would be all out chaos. 


They hadn’t put boots to the ground, nor did they send out shifters to the other pack to fight. 


Chris sat at the head of a table, surrounded by the line of pack alphas still living. 


The small war council that Chris put together consisted of six people.


The last two alphas of the pack who were still  of sound mind to fight, along with  their betas. 


Their pack had not seen war in over seventy years. They didn’t have conflict on their soil since before that. 


Every other type of ‘action’ that they witnessed occurred in someone else’s territory. 


They even helped the Sweetwater during that time.
