Chapter 19: Engrossing Story Telling

Assar took a minute to collect his thoughts before answering her question. Where should he start?

Eventually, he decided to just start from the beginning, “Well to make a long story short, several hunters have disappeared after accepting a contract to investigate a string of disappearances in a local hamlet. As a result, no one wanted to accept the contract. I being younger and foolish, am now volunteered for the task.”

“Why were monster hunters investigating disappearances in a town?”

“Because each time someone went missing there wasn’t any evidence of humanoid involvement. Each person who was taken seemed to literally vanish into thin air in the dead of night. The locals were convinced it was some apparition of sorts.”

“How did you figure out it was a vampire?”

Assar snorted, “Half-bloods make good vampire hunters for a reason. I could smell the scent of a blood-crazed vampire at the sights the victims were last seen.”

“How did you find out the beast’s location?”
