Penny reached over and grabbed Felicity’s hand, “City, I want you to listen very closely to me.” When their eyes met, Penny continued, “Marco is gone. I need you to hear that.”
Her words sent a sharp pain through Felicity’s chest. For the first time since she lost Marco, she was willing to accept those words, and it scared the ever-living sh*t out of her. Accepting them meant that he truly was gone, never coming back. At least, not in this lifetime. The realization triggered the feeling she had when she first found out he didn’t make it. The last memory she had of him flashed through her mind, and it seemed to slow time down.
