Chapter 37: Say Goodbye

Felicity sat down on a bench, watching the fire consume the last essence she had of Marco. She looked to her side and saw the silhouette of a man walking toward her. At first she felt panicked, a little nervous, but deep down, she sensed no threat. The face of the person came into the light and her jaw fell open as she recognized this man as the husband she lost. She had to have been hallucinating, but the sight of him was so welcoming, she would allow it all to play out.

Marco approached her, the sweet smile that always tugged at her heart on his face. He held his arms out and she fell into them instantly. “Hello, Felicity.”

It was one thing to see him walking to her, and after he spoke, she couldn’t stop her tears. “How are you here?” she asked with a trembling voice.

“I might be a ghost, or a figment of your imagination.” He mused as he tugged her to sit next to him.

“Why are you here? Why now?” she sobbed.
