Unknown sentiment

He traces his fingertips on the busted crust of Alex's lips, heart beating out of his chest, Juan let out a sound of contentment. Straightening up from the crouching position and standing a step away from the slope step as he studied Alex's form.

"You're all good now" Juan announced when he swiped the last bit of blood on Alex's lips and put on some ointment that he bought from the nearest convenience store a moment ago. Untangling his posture, Alex looked up at Juan with a pleased expression, reaching out for his hand. Juan assisted him to get up from the concrete step on the slop, cradling Alex's arms ever so gently.

"Thank you" Alex whispered for the nth time that night.

"you don't have to thank me for every single thing do, I told you it's fine," Juan muttered as he tugged his hair behind his ear bashfully.

The untarnished smile gifted by Alex made Juan's heartbeat quicker, his belly fluttering like the wings of a bird.

They swam in the eyes of each other for a good moment. suddenly nothing feels more fascinating than standing there, so close. Juan never knew about the delightful voice of silence, until this moment.

Close, they are so close, the way he could smell Alex's Cologne mixed with an iron whiff of blood, making it hard for him to think straight. The feeling of Alex's fingertips ghosting over the shell of his ear as he tugged a strand of Juan's hair behind it, urged his eyes to shut close. A million butterflies engulfing on his belly. Close, it's too close.

The overwhelming atmosphere between them was broken by the sudden noose of Alex's phone. Flinching away from each other, Alex fumbled his phone out from the back pocket of the pants that he had worn.

"Hey" he greeted with a rushed tone. The pain in his legs found its way back, making him flop on the slope step again.

"Yeah, um, sure" he mumbled on the phone. Hands uneasily scooting through his locks. Juan let his gaze roam around Alex's form, from the way his black shirt clings to his body, to how his lips outline a frown while he chatters on the phone.

"Yeah, the alleyway on the 2nd Street." Alex conformed while throwing a tiny smile toward Juan.

"Can't stand for too long with a broken leg." Alex quipped, even though that's credible. The call was broken off with that.

"It's Johnny, my cousin, he's going to pick me up." with that final words, they let the silence devour them.

It was hardly five minutes before the noise of a motorcycle broke through the stillness. It was Alex's cousin. Pulling off the helmet and tugging it on the handle of the bike, he ran towards Alex.

"Dude, what the fuck?!" he groaned while squeezing Alex's shoulder. Alex offered him a smile that indicates he is fine. bringing his limps up from the slope step, when Johnny, his cousin exhorted him to. Johnny supports Alex's body as he takes him to the bike. Suddenly stopping in the midway, turning his head towards Juan, eyebrows furrowing.

"Who are you?"

Juan's eyes dilated at the sudden attention. Fidgeting the hem of his shirt, Looking stiff and uneasy.

"It's Juan, erm, he was the one who took care of me. I mean, treated my wounds and all." Alex stepped on it. Maybe he can already feel the uneasiness of Juan. Eyes crinkling up as he presents Juan with a soft smile.

"Oh! Well, thank you, Juan. You did great!" Johnny conceded to him as he proceeded to guide Alex towards his bike, eventually both of them settling on it. Alex's eyes drift away to Juan, a delicate smile playing on his lips "Thank you, I hope we'll meet again." the starting of the engine broke through the air.

Abrupt loneliness grasped him while Juan stand there, watching Alex's form vanishing into the dark, alone. A sting in his heart.

The downpour soaking his form, Shoes railed against the concrete of the pathway as he ran furiously, water spattering around. With an unknown emotion settling in the pit of his stomach, feelings all over the place, Juan let this foreign sentiment take over him...

*End of flashback*

"Earth to Juan!" Caleb shrieked while giving a hard push on Juan's shoulder. They're currently in a class, A very boring one. It's hardly been half an hour since the class started but it already feels like an eternity.

"The heck, caleeeeb" Juan whined while rubbing his shoulder, shooting a death glare at Caleb.

"What the fuck are you daydreaming about? Is it the guy with blue eyes, again? come on, I already told you it was love at first sight, didn't I?" Caleb let out dramatically. A smirk thrived on his pale face. And it irked Juan.

"Oh god! How bad I want to punch that fucking smirk away from that pretty face of yours." Juan smiled through his gritted teeth. Earning a fit of wild laughter from Caleb.

It's been 2 weeks and 5 days since the occurrence on the alleyway and Juan still can't seem to get Alex out of his head. He is a mess. Now all he could think about is how those ocean eyes gazed up at him with utter softness.

"Man! The teacher will kick your ass for being so fucking loud." Juan cursed, pinching Caleb's thigh which result in Caleb squirting in the seat and letting out an audible whine.

"Caleb, Juan! What are you guys doing there??" Mrs. Miller questioned as she glared at them. "it's been a while since I start noticing you two messing in the class!"

Sheepishly Juan stands up from the seat, Caleb following his action. "Sorry, Mrs. Miller!" they both apologized in unison. She motioned them to Sit down while muttering a "not again"

Embarrassed, He let his eyes roam around the classroom. What he never expects was to lock eyes with the boy he craves to see again, even once.

His heartbeat quickened in his chest, and Juan thought his legs would give out. Plopping on the seat, his eyes found their way back to Alex once again.

The way those ocean eyes pierced through his soul made Juan shudder...
