I stared intensely at the screen of my phone with no particular thought present in my mind other than the possible reason for his call.

I wasn't so used to people calling to only check up on me and I doubted if that was the reason he was calling or if he was just calling to remind me that the end of the contract was drawing near.

I answered the call and tried as much as I could to remain comported while I act and speak rightly.

"Hello, Caroline," he said, immediately I picked up the call.

"Hello, Mr Trenton," I answered.

I wasn't so certain how I was meant to address him and not even when he was calling at midnight.

"You sound so off. Is everything okay with you?"
