Caroline

The drive back home was silent and that was exactly how I wanted it. I was hurt and I couldn't even hide the pain my heart felt even though I tried to.

My heart was heavy and if I thought hard about what he said, I could start bawling and that was something I clearly don't want to find myself doing.

I looked over at him as he held the steering wheel firmly with his gaze focused on the road without soaring me a glance. He seems to be at peace with everything he had just made me realize and I seem to be the only one taking things too far.
