I looked everywhere else but her face. It held pain that my heart could not comprehend.
My body, including my face, felt numb at the first contact her hands made with my face. The way her eyes streamed out no tears but subtly they were soaked.
"What happened?" she asked again instead of admitting the words I had just said to her. She was avoiding me and "I miss you" seems like a way beyond the line that she had managed for me not to cross.
"A lot happened and I'm certain it's the same with you. Why don't we get a quiet place and discuss about us,"
She looked at me at the mention of 'us' as though there'd never been something like that between us that contains us still.
"I have nothing to say to you," she retorted as she applied the ointment to my lower lip and soon, she closed the kit and turned to get down from the car but I held her back.
