Wednesday 12:30pm
Cloud Café
It has been about four months since the incident between Rebecca and Daejanel. August had ended up changing the shifts so both girls weren't working together and during that time August and Emma grew closer, though not as close as Mackenzie wanted them to be.
"Come on, just ask him out." Mackenzie demanded.
"Mackenzie!" exclaimed Emma quietly as to not disturb any of the guests. "What? It's the 21st century, don't tell me you're waiting on a man to ask you out. If you like him, go shoot your shot."
"I agree, if I had waited for my current boyfriend to ask me out I'd still be single, according to him even though he liked me he was still too scared to approach me and confess." Sam said, reminiscing about the past. She was glad she took her chance.
While the girls were discussing why and how Emma should ask August out, August was staring at Emma. While he didn't know what exactly they were talking about he took one look at Emma's blushing face and made a guess they were talking about him.
Bold, but highly likely to be a correct guess. While August was staring fondly at Emma, Rebecca noticed and didn't like it one bit. Out of spite and a bit of anger Rebecca walked over to August and asked loud enough for Emma to hear.
"August, would you like to go out for dinner this evening?" after asking she realized what she did and turned red. If August was to shut her down after she spoke so loudly it'd be a huge embarrassment.
Emma and Mackenzie had by now stopped talking and turned to hear his response. Emma silently prayed that he declined her invite but that was not the case. She was quite hurt by his response as he had agreed to eat out with her. "Sure, I'll have dinner with you." He agrees, shocking everyone including Rebecca.
"Are you ok?" whispered Mackenzie, who was now broken from her shock. "I'm ok." smiled Emma now feeling a bit nauseous. "I'll be back, I need to use the restroom." mumbles Emma before running off.
Out of the corner of his eyes August sees Emma running off but doesn't chase her. He instead tells Rebecca to go home and be ready by 6 as he's going to pick her up. "You can leave early to get ready. I'll pick you up at 6. Same address?" he asked before getting up.
The still stunned Rebecca could only nod before rushing home to get ready. Sure there was time, but Rebecca was very indecisive when it came to getting dressed. Wondering what shirts would fit the occasion, getting the appropriate hairstyle to match. She tends to always overthink what is the appropriate clothes for the occasion.
August glances in the generalized direct of where Emma ran off to before sighing. "I'll set things straight with Rebecca and then everything will be fine." he mumbled to himself before making his way upstairs.
After reaching upstairs August sighs once more before going inside his room to pick out an outfit. "Nothing too fancy." he mumbled before going to his walk-in closet. His closet was a relatively large space which consisted of all sorts of clothes for every occasion.
He walked over to where his shirts were kept and decided on a plain white t-shirt, a leather jacket and a dark jeans pant. He threw the outfit onto his bed before going to pick out a pair of shoes that would match with his outfit.
Once he was finished he went to take a nap, making sure to set an alarm for 5pm. He didn't want to be late as he thought it was plain rude to just keep a lady waiting.
…
5pm rolls by quickly and August's alarm goes off. "Already? I was having such a nice dream." he then thought back to what his dream was and his face turned red. 'I must be losing it.' he thought heading to the bathroom.
It didn't take long for August to get dressed and once he was done, he headed downstairs where he waved the others goodbye. After leaving the café he goes into the parking lot located to the right of the building and goes into his Audi.
He drove down the familiar street silently contemplating if it was really a good idea to accept her invitation. Sure, it was to clarify things between them, but he didn't want her getting the wrong idea.
He pulled into the parking lot of a white apartment complex where he saw Rebecca waiting. She was wearing a beautiful red almost skin tight above the knee, dress which complimented her hair perfectly with matching shoes and lipstick. He got out of the car and walked her over, opening the door for her, as he considered it basic manners and shut it behind her. He then walked over to his side, got in and drove out the parking lot.
At first there was an awkward silence but Rebecca broke it speaking about webnovels. "I heard A journey to the higher realm will be dropping its first chapter tomorrow." she started. "I heard as well, I follow the author on webnovel." he responded softly, allowing her to continue trying to make conversation.
By the time they arrived at La Monte, the drive was no longer awkward and they were even laughing together. August opened her door and they walked over the restaurant where someone took the car key and another welcomed them inside.
"Welcome to La Monte. Reservation name please."
"Two seats under Valentine."
"Ahha, right this way Sir." the host responded after finding the name in the book of reservations. He then proceeded to lead them upstairs to a two seated table as per requested upon reservation.
"This place is beautiful, thank you for accepting my invite August." smiled Rebecca. August only nodded in response as a waiter came over to take their order.
The dinner goes by smoothly but August was having trouble bringing up the topic to Rebecca. In the end, he invited her to a movie in hopes that by the end he'd be able to bring it up. "Do you want to go see a movie?" he asked knowing she wouldn't deny.
"Yes! Can we see Diana?" she asked as he closed the car door behind her.
"..."
"I saw that one recently, how about something else?"
"Oh… I really wanted to see that one though. How about Anything for my Queen?"
"That one sounds interesting." he smiled as he drove out the parking lot and toward the theatre.
