Chapter 24

The werewolf was looking at the land in front of him, as he had been doing for thousands of years.

On the other side of the old palace, perhaps because of the werewolf's words earlier about Wolfie, Tom's condition was now recovering slowly and gradually.

Sometimes, Tom would wake up from her dream and fall back asleep quickly again because her body was still very weak.

Tom could no longer count the number of days and nights that had passed. However, what he did know was that every time he woke up he had never once seen the werewolf.

"You have got up?" The maid said softly. At dawn, the maid opened the curtains of the large window in the room, letting the sunlight shine through the glass panes.

"Today the weather is nice, do you want to eat something?" The waiter asked quietly.

Tom shook her head to refuse the maid's offer. Every time Tom wakes up from her sleep, the old maid will appear by her side and continue to take care of her. Tom felt grateful for the maid.

"It'd be better if you get up and move your body even if it's a little and for a while," said the maid as she poured Tom a cup of fragrant, red tea.

"Thank you." Said Tom accepted the teacup and began to slowly insert it.

"The wardrobe is over there. Wear whatever clothes you like. They belong to the Lord." The servant said pointing to a large cupboard in the corner of the room. "Oh, would you like some sugar for the tea?" The waiter offered to show Tom the sugar container.

"No, there's no need, thank you." Tom said slowly. Then suddenly he remembered something so he added the question he had in mind to the maid, "While my head was in such a mess at the time, I thought I had heard someone mention something about Wolfie, he said that-"

"Yes that's right." The maid cut off Tom's sentence and smiled then she continued, "When the King of Salem disappears later, the promise that has been given to all the Beasts will be gone instantly. When that time comes, Wolfie will come back to life as before."

A hope was now lit up and visible in Tom's eyes, but Tom didn't notice the worry behind the maid's smile.

'The moment when the King of Salem disappears is an extremely impossible thing... Besides, if this human were to leave the Palace of Ferocity guarded by master, that would mean master would...' The maid thought sadly. The maid immediately consoled herself and she immediately shook off her negative thoughts. 'But ever since this human appeared, now master is more human-like than before.' He continued in his heart.

"Get dressed, I'll prepare breakfast for you." The maid said and immediately closed the door behind her. Tom got out of bed slowly and walked straight to the big wardrobe in the corner of the room.

He opened the wardrobe, all of its contents were clothes that seemed luxurious and beautiful. The clothes were a little bigger than Tom's size but the materials and workmanship were definitely top class.

Tom began to wonder what the owner of these luxurious and beautiful clothes looked like.

Tom immediately chose the simplest-looking dress in white, decorated with velvet fur around it.

When Tom finished dressing and wanted to close the wardrobe, Tom realized that there was an open corner under the wardrobe and it was seen that something was tucked in between. Before he could think twice, out of curiosity he immediately pulled out the hidden item.

It was a photo frame made of wood. Based on the appearance of this photo frame, this photo frame has been hidden by its owner for a very long time judging from the very thick layer of dust that covers the surface of the photo frame.

Tom didn't know what would happen to her after this, and she didn't really care. If it had been her old self, she would have immediately put the photo frame back in its original place. He rarely takes care of other people. But now, he thought that this picture frame must have something to do with the owner of the wardrobe.

He gently brushed the dust off the glass on the photo frame, revealing two happy smiling faces.

In the photo, a handsome teenager with light gray hair is hugging a girl wearing purple clothes. The lovers smiled so warmly as if they could melt the snow in the middle of winter with their smiles.

Then, the sound of the door opening was heard as the maid entered with a tray of breakfast in her hand.

The maid couldn't hide the surprise on her face when she saw Tom decided to choose to wear the dress and was currently standing holding a photo frame.

When he saw Tom in that white shirt, the maid thought she was looking at her master from thousands of years ago. The white shirt that Tom is currently wearing is her master's favorite outfit.

"You..." The maid said quietly.

Tom stared dubiously at the maid's reaction as she looked at herself, then turned the photo frame in her hand to show it to the maid.

"Who are they?" Tom said in a voice filled with curiosity. His eyes scanned every expression the maid showed.

Turning back time, it was a stormy night.

The young man who was seriously injured gripped his lover's hand tightly so that his lover calmed down, "I'm fine..."

But those words couldn't stop the girl from crying, "I'm so sorry... It's all my fault." Said the girl with a sob.

"Don't worry. My maid will treat and heal me quickly, this kind of wound is nothing to me." Damian said not giving up on calming the girl down.

"But..." Emma said doubtfully.

"Emma, smile. You can go home first." Damian said with a smile hiding his pain.

The girl then left hesitantly, looking back and forth at Damian who was half sitting on the ground.
