3. Matthew Orion - The Mafia Lord.

2 DAYS LATER.

As the Rolls Royle pulled onto the roads of Gratterworth Area, people gasped.

It was an area with mostly poor residents. People had said the locality would soon develop and they needn't leave. What could they do when the government made this decision?

Matthew Orion rolled down the windows and stopped in front of the empty site which would be the new entrance for the project.

"Sir, I think it would be hazardous if we had the entrance here," the engineer told him.

If he could strike this deal he would reap many benefits. He couldn't be any more excited than he was.

"Let's take a look first, shall we?" Matthew's voice was deathly cold, annoyance dripping. The engineer nodded hurriedly, biting his lip silent.

They stepped out into the roads and he silently watched them, eyes flitting to the pedestrians.

"Sir? The neighbourhood might looks like this now but later on it will improve a lot. There is going be a lots of profits for you! I am sure you will become a great businessman." The engineer said. Matthew regarded him closely, as if looking for a hint of a lie. He then took out his phone and for a few minutes they stood in complete silent.

The engineer scowled a little. "Priviledged little boys. They take daddy's money and pretend they know all about investing." he muttered under his breath, throwing his head back to stare at the sky.

"What did you say?" Matthew asked, suddenly quiet.

The engineer's eyes widened. "What? Oh nothing-"

"What did you say?" Matthew yelled as he reached out to grip the man's exposed throat. He squeezed, his fingers digging in the right spots to cut off the engineer's windpipes.

"Who do you think I am?" Matthew said into his ear, his voice dropping again, dripping venom. "I am not a businessman...but a fucking Mafia Lord." There was no one close that could be able to hear them, and the knowledge rushed up in the engineer quickly and if he was not terrified then he certainly was now.

"I... I am sorry... Please... Let me go..." The engineer pleaded.

"How dare you talk so disrespectfully of me?" Matthew seethed.

"Do you have any idea how much I've worked to be what I am today?" Matthew continued slowly, pulling a gun out. The engineer's eyes widened even more and his legs were trembling.

But as he was about to pull the trigger he heard a sound which made him stop halfway.

A puppy's whimper.

Almost in a trance he walked towards the sound, to the backside of the land.

His men grabbed the engineer's collar and made him follow.

Matthew lingered from a distance, his eyes flashing at a group of kids bullying a wounded puppy, kicking and spitting on it. Tiny rivers of blood flowed from the puppy's neck, and Matthew was instantly furious.

He walked over with swift long strides and chased them away with a single murderous glare and he bent over the puppy, turning it over gently to inspect its wounds.

His face was tight in worry as he looked down at the puppy.

He took out his kerchief and cleared the dirt around the most sensitive part, pressing the clean part to the wound to slow the bleeding.

Just then the engineer crawled towards him with praises of how careful and sensitive he was.

"I am sorry... You are so kind... You are so careful and sensitive with the puppy. Please, let me go... My life is perhaps more than a puppy's-"

Matthew took out his gun and pressed it to the engineer's head, his face blank of emotion. "Humans sin, dogs do not. Cease your speaking and enjoy your last seconds of living."

The engineer's face went back to one of sheer panic.

Matthew looked at him and was about to pull the trigger when he heard the soft and painful whimper of the puppy in his hands.

That pulled him out of his reverie.

He gently lifted the puppy, his other hand still firmly pressing the gun to his head.

Matthew turned around that was when a car pulled up close to them.

He raised his eyebrows at them seeing Alden and Kelen stepping out of the car. His face bore a smirk as they both walked towards him.

"Boys, finish him. He's pissing me off," Matthew said as he tucked the gun into his pants as if nothing had happened.

While his men killed the guy, Matthew heard the gun shot but he didn't flinch nor even turn his head to see it happened. He didn't even check if he was really dead.

Matthew just smiled faintly. A satisfied grin appeared on his face looking at Alden when he heard the gun shot.

"Welcome Home, Alden Orion." Matthew said with a smile, still nursing the puppy.

"Thank you, Brother." Alden replied and Matthew chuckled.

"Brother... Well, don't you think you should call me with respect when you meet your boss?" Matthew asked as he smirked and Kelen took a deep breath.

"Boss..." Kelen greeted as he bowed his head and he looked at Alden who sighed.

"Thank you, Boss." Alden replied making Matthew smile.

"So, you have finally succeeded with your mission?" Matthew asked and Alden nodded his head, though he seemed to stiffen.

"Great! So, finally... You did what you wanted! Great! Did you kill the whole family?" Matthew asked.

"Boss..." Matthew glared at Kelen before he say anything more and Kelen stopped in mid sentence.

"I am asking my brother." Matthew said sternly and Kelen winced. "Yes, Boss."

"So... Did you kill the whole family just like you planned too? Even his daughter?" Matthew asked and Alden took a deep breath before he nodded his head.

"Yes." Alden answered without hesitation making Kelen's head spin in his direction and Matthew took note of this. But this was his brother and it was useless to suspect his own blood, so he smiled brightly.

"Great. But it took a lot of time for you to get done with your mission and unfortunately, you are quite late." Matthew said firmly.

"Yes." Alden replied and Matthew laughed out loud.

"This turned out better than I could have imagined, Alden." Matthew said.

"I should indeed thank you, Alden." Matthew said as he patted his brother on the back.

"Thank you for succeeding in your mission, Brother." Matthew said with a smile as he looks at Alden.

Just then, the puppy whimpered and Matthew looked down at it.

"I have to get this little guy to a veterinarian now. See you later, Brother. Come home, soon. Our Family is waiting for you." Matthew said and walked towards the car.

One of his men opened his car door and he got inside.

"Bastard." Kelen cursed him as soon as his car disappeared from their sight.
