The Devil Beside Me

Luca drew a deep breath as she went through the files. Her heart was thudding against her chest, swallowing the building tension in her throat. The computer wasn't completely turned off. There were still files that didn't close properly as if the real Luca simply put them to sleep in a hurry.

"This…" her eyes shook, hand trembling. "... why?"

Luca pushed the swivel chair away from the desk slightly, combing her hair with her fingers.

"Why… would she…" her breathing hitched, covering her mouth with her hand as she tried to maintain her composure. "Why would she put a hit on her head?"

As she went through the files, Luca found a shocking revelation. It seemed the person who gave out that order to kill her, was Luca, herself. It was clear. She had the same files as each people in the profiles Adam handed over was in this very computer.

Ask help
