Luca leaned her back against the wall, glancing at the stairs of the fire exit. 

'Good thing, Jacques, agreed to leave me.' She heaved a sigh of relief, thinking about how Jacques raised her brow when Luca told her she wanted to go to the restroom. 'I should also thank Maddison.'

The only reason Jacques agreed Luca would stop on the 87th floor — three levels below the CEO's floor — was because Maddison was with Luca. Obviously, Luca didn't need to explain to Maddison what she was planning because the latter already knew what was going on inside Luca's mind. Hence, they parted ways with Maddison heading somewhere else near the fire exit but not too close while Luca was in the fire exit. 

'Will he come?' she checked her last message to Xander that was left on read. 'Of course, he will.'
