Doubt

"Thanks."

Luca glanced over her shoulder at where Maddison was standing. Maddison stood behind Luca in the lift, nodding without saying anything. Luca didn't stay in the fire exit with Xander that long because Jacques called.

Still, she wanted to thank Maddison for delaying Xander's arrival at the fire exit. Meeting him in such a place would guarantee some steamy moments. Luca wanted to avoid that at all costs, although there was a huge part of her that knew there might come a time she would have to use her body. That was if Luca wouldn't be able to arrest Xander in time. 

"Maddison, did you check if someone else was in the fire exit earlier?" asked Luca despite knowing Maddison wasn't in the fire exit. It wouldn't harm anyone to ask since Maddison could easily sneak in the fire exit a few levels below. 

"No. Did you sense someone is there?"

"How can I sense that?"

"Just… instinct."
