"After everything and all the failures I've done so far… I won't just die so easily and such a pathetic death."

Luca clenched her teeth, feeling the bar that went through her thigh. Although the metal went from one side of her leg to the other, it missed almost all vital parts. She could still feel it under her palm, but it hurt like hell.

"Damn it!" she breathed out, closing her eyes to maintain her focus. "Bennet… I need you."

When Lizz crawled her way out of the vehicle, she stretched her body. A series of bone cracking resonated from her, adjusting her dislocated joints and bones like it was nothing. Unlike Luca, Lizz was a vampire. A few broken bones weren't enough to stop her from rising from the ground.

'Buy her some time… that is what my chief said.' Lizz glanced over her shoulder, standing on the side of the vehicle several steps from it.
