Chapter 103 Beastfolks

As Jade and Matt casually took a stroll in the palace, Jade asked. "Is someone else going to accompany us?"

"Tat, will."

"Okay, then..."

They then nonchalantly left through the front door, giving the guards just a single look before they bowed and opened it.

They walked through the stone bridge over the shallow pond that surrounded the palace. As they walked, the green trees got their wind blown by a sudden gust of wind, causing their leaves to go all over the place.

"You know, I never liked these trees." Matt stated.

"Why? They look so nice."

"They smell funny."

"Well, they are used for painkillers, and we know how bad medicine smell and taste."

"Makes sense."

After a little bit, they finally made their way onto the other side of the stone bridge.

"Who goes there?" Asked the guard on the other side of the gate separating the bridge from the city.

"It's me, Matt. Got the princess hostage, so give me all of your money."

"Okay, buddy..."

Then, the guard opened the door, gave them a little bow before letting them out. And after closing the door behind them, he returned to his post with the rest of twenty or so guards guarding the gate.

As they began walking through the busy streets, a few residents began noticing the two. As they were about to kneel, Matt just gave them a wave accompanied with a smile.

The residents, seeing his smile and gesture, returned a smile before they went off to do their usual work, occasionally talking to people they encounter.

And after a while, Matt and Jade began walking through the streets with no one bothering them, like everyone made a silent agreement that they don't exist.

Matt then asked. "Do you have a place in mind, Jade?"

"Hmm, nowhere in particular. Do you have a place to recommend?"

"I heard that a new tea shop opened up. I heard they brew their tea from slightly poisonous herbs. I believe it's name is the Purple Turtle, has a nice ring to it."

"Is it safe?"

"Well, no one would approve it's business license if it weren't safe. If your really worried, I can test the tea for you."

"No, thank you. I don't want to drink your spit."

"Heh, what makes you say that I haven't been spitting in all of your food this entire time?"

"Just shut up, and lead me there."

Meanwhile, on the other side of the valley, in the Sun capital, Set is walking through the streets in a relaxed manner.

Then suddenly, a little girl bumped into him, knocking the girl onto the ground. The girl dropped the flower whe was holding onto the ground as the cat ears on her head twitched.

"Ow!" The girl said as she began picking herself off of the ground. But her entire body and tail froze in place as she met Set's scary looking face.

Set, without a word, kneeled down, picked up the flower and offered in to the girl. After the girl nervously accepted her flower back, Set casually continued his walk, leaving the little girl to just stand there, confused and puzzled.

After crossing a bridge, Set noticed a familiar group of children leaning over a barricade separating the parhway from the river on the side. He walked over to them and asked. "What are you three doing?"

Miya turned to him, looking a bit surprised by his sudden appearance, before she replied. "Uh, nothing. Just walking around."

Set then turned his attention towards the other two, Rose who was eating candies from Amber's food filled arms.

"Don't think we gave you money." Set said to them.

Looking very annoyed, Amber turned to him and said. "We didn't buy any of these."

Set raised an eyebrow at Amber's reply. Rose then explained. "Well, we were just walking around but suddenly, everyone began giving Amber in particular, food and other free stuff."

"Yeah, I don't need all of these stuff."

Miya then interjected saying. "I thought you began giving them back?"

"I did. But whenever I tried, they would just refuse and tell me it's mine."

"How odd."

"I also want free stuff."

After Rose said that, Set then said. "You shouldn't take stuff from strangers."

The girls turned to him and asked. "Why?"

"Because it might get you into trouble."

"T-then, we should probably return this things."

"But, I already ate half of them."

As the girls began panicking, Set then casually asked. "Did the residents of this place give these things?"

"Uh, yeah?"

"It's fine then."

"How exactly?"

Set then pointed at Amber head, directly into her exposed cat ears as he said. "The people of this place has a weird thing for Beastfolks. They are nice to them, but act a bit weird around them."

"What?" Asked the girls confusedly.

"I assume you met Lilly, right?"

"Yes, of coarse."

"She is from here. That's why she acts weird when near you."

As Amber looked like she was experiencing a PTSD flashback, Rose then said. "Why exactly?"

"I don't know, ask her if want to know."

"Uh, okay."

Amber then snapped out of her flashback as she asked Set. "What if I hide my ears? Will she and everyone stop trying to hug me to death?" Looking very desperate and hopeful.

Set then bluntly said. "Even if you hide them in think layers of clothing or just chop them off, they'll know."

Amber looked like she was raised up high before being slammed into the ground, as her expression lost all life, her arms gave way.

As Miya went over to comfort Amber, Rose slid down before Amber, catching all of the food mid-air that Amber dropped.

Miya then asked her. "Are you serious, Rose?"

To which Rose replied entusiastically. "Priorities." Before eating her food, making Amber look like she was about to cry even more.

Set just watched over the three while simultainously looking perpetually calm, yet perpetually looking like he is about to rip someone's face off.

Meanwhile, in another part of the city, Celine is walking through the streets, wearing sunglasses that did nothing to hide her annoyed expression as her arms were filled to the brim with gifts.

Looking like she was about to snap at any moment, she noticed a little girl with cat features running with a flower in hand.

"Hey!" She called out, gathering the little girl's attention.

"Catch." Celine said as she dumped all of her gifts onto the little girl's arms, causing her entire body to be locked under the weight of it all.

The little girl then said. "Uh, thank you, big sister. But, I think this is too much. Big sister?" As the little girl remained locked in place, Celine was long gone.

As Celine walked through the streets, looking very relieved, an ordinary little girl approached her, blocked her path, before offering her a flower while saying. "A gift for you, Pretty lady."

A vein snapped into two in Celine's forehead. Just as she was about to reach the girl's head with her muscular hands, something figuratively hit her in the head.

She then placed both hands beside her head as she thought. "Wait! Isn't this place the home of that white-haired bitch?!"

"Don't tell me everyone here acts like her?" She then looked around, meeting everyone's smiling gazes.

She then continued to say to herself. "Hold on a minute, that blue-eyed bitch definitely knew about this. Is that the reason she let me go that easily?!"

She her beautiful face then turned into that of a monster, scaring the little girl away, but not before placing her flower into Celine's long, wavy orange-brown hair.

Celine then screamed in her mind. "That fucking bitch is mocking me! That absolute shit! I'm going to kill her!"

As she frantically looked from side to side, looking like a maniac. Her gaze then landed on a cliff that over looks the city, it's sheer sides looking like walls of a tower.

Looking very calm now, Celine asked herself. "Can I go up there?" Just as she asked that, an image of a certain blue-eyed woman entered his mind, causing Celine to scoff. "Heh, like hell."

She then began searching the city's skyline. After a bit of searching, her mind and soul picked it's destination. A large palace, built on top of a hill, over looking the entire city.

Celine's eyes was then filled with intrigue and excitement before she began making her way towards the palace with a smile worthy of her gorgeous face.

And now, at the same time, within the very same palace that Celine was looking at, Nuno, the dog-like beastfolk within the Queen's court, said. "Listen to your older brother, Kinu, I command you to not say that word."

Her younger sister, Kinu, who looks to be a feline beastfolk, then said with a mischievous look on her face. "Uuuuuu-"

"Don't you do it!"

"Uuuuu-"

"I will personally take care of you, if you say it!" Warned Nuno.

Then, with the mischievous look still on her face, Kinu turned around before she started running the opposite direction. She yelled out loud as she ran. "UwU!!!!"

And almost immediately, Kinu disappeared into thin air, leaving a massive hole on the ground where she stood.

Nuno held a hand to his face as he said. "Rest in  pieces, sister. As your brother, I can't let you live like that."

Then, Shiru, the puffy-cheeked girl, appeared from within the shadow of a pillar looking very ominous before she said. "I'm snitching."

Then, she too disappeared into thin air, leaving behind a massive hole on the floor as Nuno then said without moving from his pose. "I'm sorry, Shiru. No witnesses."
