Chapter 124 The girls

"That damned golden-eyed bastard!!!"

Within a lush forest, filled with trees and life, a voice boomed.

Miya, who was walking with an awkward smile, was following behind a trail of someone named Celine.

The two of them walked silently in the forest, seemingly having a place in mind.

Celine, who wore a face full of anger and frustration, her usual face, walked through the forest floor, not letting branches, roots, bushes, or even whole trees block her way.

Miya could only smile forcefully as she walked behind her as Celine continued to kick everything that she can reach.

Then, Miya looked directly at Celine's long, curly hair that rolled down her back as she began to say. "Um... Mis-"

All of a sudden, Celine turned to her, looking like she is about to rip her limb from limb, before saying in an overbearing tone. "You! In front of me, now!"

"Ah! Umm... O-okay!"

After switching places, Miya walked nervously infront of Celine as they continued their walk through the forest, with her occasionally looking back.

Fortunately for Miya, Celine seemed to have stopped kicking down everything, only occasionally backhanding a few bushes and trees with her Lucile-infused fist.

Then, Miya nervously spoke. "Uh, Miss Celine. I don't..."

"..."

"I don't know where we are going."

"..."

"..."

"Don't talk to me and just keep on walking."

"Yes, Maam."

Then, after walking for a few more minutes in awkward silence, they found themselves at the edge of a cliff.

As Miya nevously looked down, she looked like she suddenly realized something and backed off, hitting Celine's arm.

"Ah! I'm so-"

Miya immediately tried to apologize, but seeing that Celine just kept on walking towards the edge, she stopped.

"Umm, Miss Celine?"

Celine did not reply, only sitting down right on the edge of the cliff.

Miya awkwardly looked around a few times before taking a deep breath and walking over.

Miya managed to sat down beside Celine, who continued to stare of into the distance, while daring not to look down.

As Miya continued to seat nervously and trying to stop herself from shaking while avoiding every urge to look down.

Then, Miya couldn't take it anymore and clung to Celine with her shaking hands.

Feeling her touch, Celine turned to her, devoid of the distant look she had as she now wore an irritated face, saying. "If you are afraid of falling, don't come over here!"

Hearing her booming voice, Miya unconciously let go as she moved a bit further away.

"Hmph!" Seeing her back away, Celine released a cold snort as she returned her attention towards the view infront of her.

Seeing as Celine was fixated on the clear, blue sky before her, Miya picked up the last bit of her courage before asking. "Miss Celine, are we-"

"Shut up, or you're falling down."

"Yes, Maam."

After that, Miya did as she was told. Sitting on the edge with a good distance between herself and Celine, completely silent as they both looked off into the distance.

As Miya looked back at the setting sun behind them, before returning her attention to the horizon that Celine is fixated at, before looking at Celine's face itself.

Seeing Celine's focused, nostalgic, yearning expression, Miya sat back in silence as she thought. "I hope everyone is okay..."

As time continued to pass, somewhere else within the Sun region, inside a certain building, a pair of young girls are sitting on a table.

It was Amber, who looks incredibly down, and Rose, looking like she is currently experiencing the fight for her life.

As Rose squirmed uncontrollably under the table, Amber remained completely still, looking blankly into the table.

Then, after biting into her lower lip, Rose then asked. "Amber... is there... something you want to talk about?"

"No. There is not, Rose..."

"..."

"..."

Then, with a bit of a pause, Amber lowered her head to the table as she wrapped her arms around it.

"I just... Nevermind."

Looking very conflicted, Rose continued to seat opposite to her, still squirming under the table.

As Amber continued to slump over the table, Rose looked around them desperately, only to be met with silence and the empty halls.

As Rose took a deep breath, she took a glance at Amber, who has not moved a single bit.

She then closed her eyes shut, trying to prevent any light from getting in, but then, she opened them just a tiny bit, allowing her to glance at the depressed Amber once more.

Then, after breathing out, Rose then said with a calm tone. "Amber... Talk to me."

"..."

"..."

"I'm sorry... Rose."

"For... what? You haven't done anything, have you?"

"That's precisely why, Rose... I haven't done anything... and here I am... always feeling unlucky, but it seems... I am the lucky one."

"..."

"I have a great father... HAD a great father. A great set of friends, You and Miya... I even have some of the most powerful people protecting me..."

"..."

"And yet... I still called myself the unlucky one... Heh! Foolish."

"..."

As Amber returned into a state of silence, Rose just sat there in silence, gripping her fists tightly as she looked down onto the table.

Then, with a heavy heart, Rose said. "Everything will be fine, Amber."

"Rose... NOTHING is fine... NOTHING will be fine..."

After saying that, Amber rose her head from the table, allowing Rose to see the miserable expression that Amber has, along with her red eyes and dried rivers of tears.

Then, Amber stood up, saying. "If that's all you want to say to me, Rose, I'm going back to our room. Tell Lilly to not call me down for dinner... I'm not in the mood."

Rose could only seat there, following Amber with only her helpless gaze as she walked up the steps.

After Amber left, disappearing into the second floor, Rose just remained sat on the chair, tightly gripping her fist as she looked down with a frustrated expression while she bit her lip.

"Amber... I... I... I am..."

Rose tried to come up with words, but no matter how much she tried, the words just won't come out.

Leaving her to just seat there, frustrated and mumbling to herself as the sun set on the horizon, returning the land to darkness once more.
