Sitting under the shade of a tree in a forest, Sun was calmly breathing in the air while his eyes remained closed.
"What are you doing?"
Opening his eyes, he was met with a young man standing before him.
"Ah, Tat. I thought it was Matt who was going to accompany me?"
"He was assigned to the mines with Mae."
"So, are you going to meet the masters with me?"
"As much as I would like to avoid meeting them, yes, I am going with you."
"Ah, Tat. How long has been since we met up with our master?"
"Too short. Can we move now? It smells like animal shit here. How did you even manage to stay here?!"
"As pedantic as ever, Tat. Try enjoying life for once."
"I'll enjoy it more if we are not here to smell this place!"
Sun then took in a deep breath before letting it out while saying. "It's not that bad. But, I think it's time to go."
As they both ran towards the mountains where the sun was still rising, Tat stated. "Are you sure you aren't a masochist, Sun?"
"I don't think so..."
Meanwhile, in the mountains up north, a young man and a young woman was staring down at each other at one of the mountain peaks. These two are known as Ling and Deniss.
"Why are you up here again?" Ling said with a voice full of disdain while she remained on the balcony of her house.
"Shut up!" Deniss yelled before turning around and sitting down on a ledge as he continued to mumble to himself.
After staring down at Deniss on the edge, still mumbling to himself, for a few minutes, Ling let out a sigh as she began making her way down the stairs in front if her house.
Every step she took, the planked stairs creaked. Every move she makes, her extremely long sleeves would flow with her movements. And every swing of her arm, the rings around her forearm moves just a tiny bit thanks to her sleeves.
After making her way down, she walked on the stone pathway leading to her house on top of the mountain peak.
As she skipped along the stones, the trees shed their leaves, allowing some of them to fly of to distant lands, while some just fell into the pond underneath them.
After she was only a few steps away from Deniss, she stopped. No movements, no words, nothing as if time stood still, but it didn't. For Deniss is still mumbling to himself.
Just as she took a deep breath, Deniss turned around, surprising her, while Deniss said. "What do you want?!"
She immediately regained composure as she replied. "What do YOU want? You're the one thay came here."
"Get down this stupid mountain!"
"Why should I?!"
"Because it takes too much effort to get up and down this stupid place!"
"Oh, so you're the one asking... Then, NO."
"I hate you!"
"I hate you too!"
"..."
"..."
"Che!"
"Hmph!"
After turning their heads away from each other, they remained in an aggressive state of silence.
"I'm leaving! Don't count on me ever coming back to this stupid place, to meet your stupid face!"
"Then, leave! I don't want you here just as much as you hate being here!"
"I'm leaving!"
"Say what you were here to say before you leave!"
"Fine! The Princess wants you to meet her tommorow!"
"Why?!"
"I don't know!"
"Where?!"
"Down at the capital!"
"When exactly?!"
"Tommorow, before high noon!"
"Thank you!"
"You're welcome. Bye!"
"Bye!"
After screaming at each other, they eventually separated. With Deniss jumping off the cliff, and Ling heading for her house.
Meanwhile, in a distant part of the Jade region, overlooking the crowded streets while standing atop a wall, Dianne and Kenny stood watch.
Kenny then asked. "Are we going to help the investigations on the assasinations or what?"
Staring down at the freaked out people in the streets, Dianne replied. "The plan has changed. The Princess ordered us to escort the temporary representative of this family."
"I heard it was the young lady of the family. Couldn't even get the time to mourn her father."
"What can we do? It was Lord Jade himself that ordered for the meeting. I bet she would be happy about the fact that there is immediate action for justice."
"Stop being so calculating, Dianne. Think about her feelings."
"Why do you care? You just met her today."
"As a man, I cannot bear to see a crying woman."
"Don't you already have that Lady Fang in your sights? Why are you even bothering to be nice to every woman you see?"
"Because I, Kenny, am a modern day gentleman. I will not just stand by and watch a woman crying, no matter their appearance."
"So, what you're saying is, if I cry before you, you will do what I want? Noted."
"Well, I am not saying that..."
As they talked, a servant, from the mansion they were guarding, came over to them and said. "The Miss is ready to depart."
"Okay."
"Got it."
As the servant left, Kenny and Dianne went down the wall.
"Dianne, are Brad and Shan going to escort the other temporary representatives?"
"Yes, why ask?"
"Because there were three deaths, right? If they are together, who's on the other one? Everyone else is busy."
"Uh, from what I heard, the master of the mines, Mr. Zhou, will be the one to take care of them since he will be joining in the meeting."
"Okay, just checking. Because I heard that it was another young lady that had to take the spot."
"Of course you did. Let's be quick, the meeting will start in a few hours from now."
"I wonder if I could have lunch with these ladies..."
"Keep your priorities straight, Kenny!"
