Daciana P.O.V.

I've woken up this morning to find myself all gagged up in a dungeon of which I didn't know how I got in there cause the only thing I remember was sleeping off at a corner yesterday. A fierce guard came down to loosen me off and led me outside only for him to tie me to a horse and galloped away with it while I scrubbed against the floor till we arrived at the site where ma'am Priyanka had shown me.

My body was all bruised off, depicting many cuts. I met a lot of people wearing the same outfit as mine, they were busy carrying logs and filing them in their right places. But as soon as we arrived, the guard ordered all of them to leave saying I'll do the remaining work according to how the Alpha had commanded.

"Now get to work" roared the guard as I was still Standing looking to see a lot of logs lying on the ground, with the sight of it, I knew I could die if I get to arrange all of this but not conceive any more punishment,

I started carrying the logs and filing them in order.

The logs were damn heavy and it got to a point where I felt too weak.

Too weak to even breathe, my hands started trembling against the log. The guard was extremely brutal to me, each time I slack back or fall hits me so hard with his whip. My back had become so sore from the lashes of the whip as I had fallen with the log so many times.

"Please I can't do this anymore, Have mercy on me." I whimpered as I had fallen so hard on the floor panting because I was out of breath, I couldn't even hear my voice. I was too weak to cry. And as expected, the guard paid deaf ears to my plea as he landed the whip against my back, Lashing me without mercy.

saying I was in pain is an understatement. I was in hell. He wasn't stopping and I know what to do to make this stop but hell I was too weak to do it, I am too weak to even raise a finger how much more standing up to continue the toiling.

In the middle of the immense pain, my brain flashed back to the memory of Ava. I remembered how we used to build log cabins together. I remember all the happy memories we shared on my lips. How I could manage to smile in these intense pains, I don't know.

Well, maybe it's true what people say that when you are about to die, you try to remember all the good old days and use your last minute to beam your final smile. I see the saying is true cause I know I can't survive this.

Soon I felt my eyes closing on their own. "Please...." was all I could mutter as I battled with my lashes but he didn't stop.

"Federico." I heard a familiar voice yelling and instantly I didn't feel any lash on my back anymore.

"And what the hell do you think Fredrick is doing?" The familiar voice yelled. I managed to twirl on the floor and my gaze landed on a male figure, but my vision was too blurry to recognize who it was. He was holding the guard's wrist upward as if restricting him from further landing his whip on me. Still battling with my lashes to see who it was, I discovered it was the beta. Laggardly turning my head, I was met with the guard's eyes. With webs of trepidation on his face, she stayed stunned for like forever.

Swallowing lumps, he spoke

"Umm...beta? When did you arrive?`` The guard slipped his hands away from the beta.

"That doesn't answer my question. What crime did she commit that you'll have to torture a poor innocent girl like this? Who had the heart to trade huh?" His aura was blazing with fire.

"She was supposed to file all these logs in their right places but she wasn't doing it right." He muffled under his breath, his head on the floor.

"And that was the reason you'll have to whip her mercilessly like an animal... what if she had died?" His voice was serene but dangerous.

"I'm sorry but it was the Alpha's order. He commanded me to have her do the work effectively and this was my only way." He said politely with his head bowed down.

The beta stared at him without saying a word then slowly his gaze landed on me. I sucked in a breath as I was met with his intimidating hazel eyes. He took a few steps toward me and stood right before me.

"You...are you alright?" He asks and I arched an eyebrow at him as though I didn't hear the question.

I believe my silence and my look right now gave me the answer. I'm not okay.

"C'mon." He reaches out his palm towards me.

"The Alpha demands your presence now." I felt my heart skip two beats as he said that.
