"Now that's a tough one." Chugging down the leftover champagne directly from the bottle, she said, "I need some time to think."

Her Double Trouble

[ANDERSON ENTERPRISE, EMMA’S OFFICE] 


When Emma entered the room, Josh was looking for something on her desk in a state of panic. “What are you looking for?” 


“Oh Emma, thank God you are here.” He breathed a sigh of relief. “I need the file I gave you yesterday. I tried calling you but the call did not go through.” 


“The blue one?” When he nodded, she opened the drawer and took it out. “Here is your file.” 


“Thanks, I thought it was missing.” Josh hugged the file. “The meeting is starting in ten minutes.” 


“Boss is back?” The file had details about the meeting they had to reschedule as Daniel’s presence was needed. 


“Yes, they arrived a couple of hours ago.” Glancing at his watch, he rushed out of the room. “I have to check if everything is okay before boss shows up.” 


After Josh left, Emma settled down in her chair. When she took out her phone, she realized it had turned off. 


When she turned it on, the first message that popped up was Daniel’s.
