Getting Back at Emma?

“What are you doing here?” Emma inquired.

“I can ask you the same question, can’t I?” Dina scoffed.

She hadn’t forgotten how Emma had humiliated her at the club. She had never felt so embarrassed.

After Emma stormed out of the club that day, Dina stood there drenched with food crumbs stuck in her hair as people around her kept looking at her, whispering and giggling. And to make things worse, none of her colleagues stepped forward and helped her out. Instead, some of them started taking pictures of her misery.

“I was going home after having dinner with my friend.” Emma looked at the man standing not too far away from them. “Who is he? Is he your friend?”

When Dina hesitated to answer, Emma frowned.

“Dina, why did that man give you money?”

“What is your problem?” Dina snapped. “Why are you being so nosy? Just stay out of my life, okay?”
