His Priority

"Mom can be too much at times," Daniel remarked. "You know how excited she gets." Emma was already going through a lot. He didn't want to make things more awkward and difficult for her.

"Yeah, I know." Owen couldn't help but agree. "But can you really blame her?"

Daniel sighed and helplessly shook his head. His lack of interest in women had always bothered Melissa. So now that he was actually interested in one, his mother was always on her toes.

After the Gala, she had already dropped him several messages asking about what was going on with Emma. She had also asked him to bring her home for dinner.

“So, is the bet between the two of you still on?” Brian curiously inquired.

“It is.” Both of them exclaimed simultaneously.

“Emma hasn’t made a clear choice yet,” Owen stated.

Daniel nodded in agreement. “Yes, but that might change soon.”

Owen smirked and took a sip of his coffee. “We will see about that.”
