We have been on the hunt for the last two weeks. I still find it hard to believe that Dr Lee, the good doctor is a psychopathic killer who harvested the organs of his victims.
Feeling the dewy grass tickle my paws, I signal Craig to go the other way. I shouldn't have brought him along, he is barely 16 but I could see the near madness in his eyes and I understood he has to join us. Lee killed his twin brother and the only family he has in this world, And he was the one who found his brother's mangled body before Lee could dispose of it.
I feel like I have failed my pack. I should have known, I should have been more diligent. His sinister actions go back at least 2 years and if I get ahold of him, I will find out it might have gone on even longer. The very thought of it makes me sick to the stomach.
My pack is so large that it has sub-districts headed up by different wolves I let have Alpha status to be able to control their district and now and then they bring reports of the district's functionality and I apportion revenue based on the size and need. They call me the Alpha King.
Why Lee got away with it for so long is because he was my second in command, my Beta. I trusted him too much. And I blame myself...
Alpha we have got movement towards the East, Several wolves, Guards of the Southwood pack.
Do not engage, we are getting close to their territory and they will be hostile, I am coming wait for me. I end communication on the link. The ground starts to eat my paws as I race off in the direction my men are in.
Tears stream the sides of my face as I run. How could he? Lee was like a brother to me? How could I not know?
As Alpha, you are not meant to show weakness. But as much as I am wolf, I am human too. And what I feel is the gut-wrenching pain, of betrayal, of loss, and of the collective pack's mourning.
Quickly I arrive, changing to my human form as I get there.

Alpha
I nod my head to acknowledge their greetings.
Alpha Ian, good evening what brings you to our borders unannounced?
I have been tracking a rogue wolf from my pack wanted for committing heinous crimes against my pack and his trail led here. Relay to your Alpha, and tell him to grant us entrance.
He goes quite still for a moment then nods his head.
Our Alpha denies you access.
What!
Tell Kincaid he doesn't who he is dealing with. The wolf we are tracking is very strong and dangerous. He is not only putting his pack in danger and we will lose track of him.
The guards change to their wolf form, except one who remained in human form long enough to tell me, we were not allowed to stay around their borders or else they will attack.
I look at the wolves in front of me, killing them will be a very easy job. But I risk starting a war with the Southwood pack, that alone and I would have risked it. But they are a sister pack to the Redwood pack and together they could be a force to reckon with. Also, a couple of Alphas from different packs have expressed their dissatisfaction with the size of our pack and fear further expansion from us, they will be more than happy to knock us down a peg or two.
I signal my men to back and I notice Craig had already transformed and is about to charge. Bringing him along was a mistake after all. I snatch him up before he can do any damage and I exert my dominance on him till he submits, whimpering. When we get back, he will be punished for his actions.
We head back home.
I do not understand why Kincaid is acting like a clodpoll with no brain. For me to personally come by his border with no proper announcement, he should know that it is important. I know our packs aren't exactly friendly but we aren't enemies either.
As I run, I feel the exhaustion of being on constant track and chase for 2 weeks gradually creep in.
I would use this opportunity to extensively investigate the murders and see if new information can come to light.

Julius, my wolf calls for her. I couldn't have found her at a worse time.
We are stronger with our mate beside us
Let's go find her
No
She is human and right now she is safer away from here.

He has become more restless since we found Zenith and it's been harder to keep him under control. I give up trying to reason with him, he is an animal after all and I focus on getting back the pack.
