Langris looked at the being and didn't move at all, scared that it might do something. In his previous life, angels were sacred beings, and were respected, and even worshipped. However, even despite the fact they had an idea of what an angel looked like, they were not sure they actually looked this way.
In this world, however, Angels were considered a race, just like the Varpek race or the human race. However, just like the demon race, it had extinct a very long time ago. Not much is known about angels in this world, but it is said that before the emergence of the human race and the other four races, the angel and demon races were dominant.
A few seconds went by, and Langris finally found the courage to walk toward the being.
"Excuse me, sir, are you okay, do you need help?"
The angel slowly opened its eyes when it heard Langris's name, and turned its head to him.
"Oh... a human, it seems that even after so many centuries, the humans still managed to survive,"
When the angel said that, Langris felt a bit more confident to approach it. When he was close enough, he crouched to have a closer look at where the angel was injured, and it turned out that his guts were cut open. There was no way possible that it was getting out alive of this situation, and Langris knew it.
"Don't worry about me," The angel said, "I know my fate, if you want to help me, please tell me, what happened to the demon race?"
"The demon race? They went extinct centuries ago, according to what the historical records say, but it is still rather unclear how the demon race got wiped out of the surface of the earth,"
The angel slowly leaned his head to the boulder, closed his eyes, and smiled as a sign of relief when he heard what Langris said.
"I truly am relieved to hear that the demon race has extinct," He said in a weak tone.
The angel coughed blood and tilted his upper body forward, and Langris held the angel's chest to prevent him from tilting any further.
"Woah... you really are in a bad state," Langris told the angel as he positioned him back to his previous position.
"Where I come from *cough* healing these wounds would be a piece of cake, but I've lost too much energy to even attempt to save myself,"
Despite the Angel living its last minutes, Langris found it weird that for some reason, it didn't seem bothered at all by this situation of dying. In fact, it was like even before Langris came in, the angel had already accepted its fate.
"Well, even if you die now, you might as well get reincarnated in a whole new world or something..." Langris told the Angel thinking of his situation and how he ended up here.
The angel giggled at what Langris said and he felt the pain from that.
"Reincarnation is possible, but it is rare, and something that happens once in a millennium. Only people that are destined for something are reincarnated. This destiny may be good, bad, or even neutral, but reincarnation never happens for no reason,"
When the angel was done speaking, Langris looked at the angel for a fraction of seconds with a serious expression before lowering his eyes and diving into his own thoughts.
'At this point, from the angels to reincarnation to superpowers, there is no reason for me to not believe what he had just said. Maybe I was destined to accomplish something, but the real question is, what is that I have to accomplish, and how will it impact this world,'
The angel had noticed how troubled Langris looked after what he had said, and wondered what he was thinking of.
"You seem to be in your own thoughts currently,"
Langris then looked back at the angel with an intrigued expression, 'For now, the best thing I can do is gain as much knowledge about this hidden past of this world,'
"Well, it's not every day you meet with an almighty being!" Langris replied scratching the back of his head.
A few seconds of silence surrounded the underground cave, and Langris was itching to ask a question, but wouldn't dare to.
"Erh-Excuse me, Mister Angel, forgive me for my curiosity, but if you do not find any problem in answering my question, then please tell me, what on earth are you doing in the middle of an underground cave, while your race was supposed to be extinct a long time ago,"
The angel opened one eye to look at Langris, he knew that a question such as this would come up at one point, and he was prepared to answer it at any moment.
The angel adjusted his position to have a straighter back leaning on the boulder, and still one hand holding his severe wound.
"I fear that I don't have enough time to explain everything in detail, however, I could explain to you the necessary..." The angel took a pause before restarting once again.
"My name is Ayida, and I am one of the 5 arc angels. You are right when you say that my race was supposed to be extinct a long time ago, and the reason for our extinction is simple, the Divine war, which opposed Demons and Angels,"
"The divine war, I've never heard of that in any records in the library..." Langris replied.
Langris had heard of the Great War which opposed all Kingdoms, the Human and the Varpek to the Fulisk and the Gadrius, he had even heard of the Hallow war, which opposed the Varpek race to the Gadrius race, however, he had never heard of any Divine War.
"That's easy to understand, during those times, you were just at the very beginning of your existence, just like the other races. The reason you have more records on the demons than on the angels is that the angels extinct first, due to this divine war.
The objective of the two sides in this war was simple, seize the Utopian temple, the residence of all divine beings, the Adonis temple. The race that seizes this land above the ethers sees and controls everything in the 3 realms, in other words, the race that possesses this land, becomes the almighty race,"
Langris suddenly stopped Ayida so he could process everything he said.
"So this Utopian temple you talk about was it not already inhabited by people?" Langris asked.
"It was inhabited by the angels, we were the ones that were rei-"
"Then if it was inhabited by angels, wouldn't that make you the so-called almighty race, but from what I see, you struggled real hard to fight back against the demons, at a point you even went extinct, so explain to me how almighty race got demolished in their own territory,"
Ayida looked at Langris with wide-open eyes, astonished by how he would nonchalantly bring up facts in front of his face like that.
"It was because of two figures, the demon king and his wife," Ayida replied, "They were the strongest beings history had ever known,"
"Well didn't the angels have some sort of leader that was as strong as them,"
Ayida suddenly started to have a sad expression on his face and lowered his head, "The leader of the 5 arc angels, Ludocius, was the only one who had the power to keep up with the powerful beings... but unfortunately, in a fight against the demon kings wife..."
Langris slightly giggled when he heard what Ayida said which made the latter wonder what was so funny.
"What is so funny for you to be laughing?"
"Well you just told me that Ludocius was powerful enough to keep up with them, but he gets killed not by the alpha, but by the alpha's wife, meaning he wouldn't stand a chance against the alpha! Well anyways, what happens when Ludocius dies?"
The angel despite his weak body still gave out an annoyed look at Langris before continuing his story.
"Before Ludocius died, he left me a sealing spell," the angel restarted, "A seal powerful enough to trap all of the demon race, however, the demon king is powerful, and he has the strength to break out of this seal, and this is why I came here, to make sure just in case he breaks out, there will be someone to fight him,"
"Well that's gonna be hard for you to find one given your current state... Hold on a minute,"
Suddenly, Langris's eyes widened, and he saw where this situation was going, for, he was the only one in the cave with the angel, and there was no way the angel was surviving another 5 minutes.
"So does that mean..." Langris said in excitement.
"Maybe this was the reason you were reincarnated,"
Langris looked at Ayida as he was slowly glowing white once again, but this time, he was releasing pixels that were evaporating in thin air. It was like he was slowly fading away.
"You seem like the smart one, I am relieved that I am leaving Ludocius' power under the hands of someone competent,"
And those were the last words of the angel before it disappeared in thin air, leaving behind it a white orb floating in front of Langris.
Ludocius stood back up and and looked at the pixels were disappearing.
"He still didn't tell me how he got those wounds, and why Ludocius didn't seal the demons from the beginning when he was fighting the demon king's girl,"
Before Langris could think further about the situation, the orb in front of him started to glow even stronger, catching Langris's attention.
The orb started to emit slow flashes of light which started to blind Langris. As the orb was getting more active, Langris started to realize that his skin was getting hotter.
"Damn it, what the fuck is this thing!" Langris exclaimed as he started to feel pain around his body.
Suddenly, when he looked straight at the orb for a slight second, the orb rushed at him at an immense speed.
After that, the cave turned dark, and nothing could be seen from close or from far. After a few seconds, from the darkness, a small blue tab with writings written in bald appeared in front of Langris.
