"Remain silent!" Ms. Morgana shouted for the hundredth time trying to shut her students up.
They were in the school's travel chamber waiting for the other class to show up.
The travel chamber is only a big building with a large and luxurious double door. This double door was called a teleportation gate. It could bring anyone to a given location as long as there is another teleportation gate at the location the person wants to go.
Depending on the size, the teleportation gate can bring people farther and farther. Some gates are large enough to touch the clouds and can transport a whole army to the other side of the globe
After a few more minutes of waiting, the other class showed up with a short middle-aged man with a redhead and a long beard as the tutor.
"It's Mr. Maverick's class..." Rayzen muttered with a drop of sweat drooling down his cheeks.
One of the best students in the school was part of Mr. Maverick's class, and this gave him and his students quite a reputation in the school.
"Look it's Nozel Kreed!" One of the students shouted pointing at a tall skinny black haired boy with brown eyes and hair covering his left eye.
He wore a white kimono and was accompanied by another student who was considered strong herself
"The beautiful Lysia Meryll!" Another male student shouted.
The person the male student was talking about was a short young teenager with short pink hair and a sweet joyful expression. She wore a white and pink long robe that reached her thighs and transparent white wings at the back as a nice touch to her costume.
"They're as strong as Rolem," Rayzen said.
As the class walked closer to Langris, they looked more and more intimidating because of how serious and powerful they seemed to be.
"You are late..." Ms. Morgana whispered to Mr. Maverick in a frustrated tone.
"The most important is that I am here," The man said looking away and smiling which annoyed Ms. Morgana even more.
"Anyways, we must get going, Reinar and his students must be waiting for us already," Ms. Morgana said as she slowly walked up to the gate and started lining the students.
Once lined in front of the gate, it started to glow white, and tiny sparkly pixels started to come out of the gate. The gate was emitting sounds of large clinging metals until the pixels dissipated and the gate stopped glowing.
After a few seconds, the gate slowly opened and on the other side of it was a bright light, so bright the students couldn't see what was on the other end.
"Everybody enter the portal and I don't want any mess!" Ms. Morgana exclaimed gesturing for the students to move.
Slowly, the students started to pass through the gate, Langris included. When they entered inside, the bright light white surrounded the students to the point it was the only thing they could see around them.
This intense light started to fade away, and the students could start to see what was in front of them. They had passed through the gate, where two rows of grey brick shops stand facing each other separated by a straight path made of concrete.
Once they had passed through the gate, the students looked behind to see a gate similar to the one they had gone through, and lined next to those gates were a row of other gates where people would pass through, mostly adventurers and travelers that came for the weapon shops and armory.
Around them were large brick walls that surrounded the area and on the opposing side of the row of portals was a large closed entrance gate with two silver armored knights with a long sharp swords in front of it.
"Ah, you have finally decided to show up!" A male voice said.
Langris looked in front of him and realized that all the students from the other temple had already arrived. He understood this because out of the few students, he had recognized the same golden hair he had seen last night.
"Please forgive us for our late arrival Reinar," Ms. Morgana immediately said once she saw the individual.
The person she was talking to was a blonde man with a beard and a big corpulence. As she said those words, she bowed her and slightly leaned forward, lifted her right arm, stuck it to the middle of her chest, and joined the middle and index finger together.
This pose was called the hallow pose and was performed when in presence of a superior, a person that deserves one's respect, as a way of apologizing to a fellow hallow practitioner, or as a way of giving your word to someone.
"We've just got here anyways, the best thing would be to explain to the students what this trip is all about," Reinar replied clapping his hands and looking at the pile of nearly 40 students.
"Hello students, some of you may know me while others don't, well, I am Reinar Fildrof. I and the tutors behind me have planned a special trip for you, students. Currently, we are in the city of Historia, at the Stable Camp. The trip has been organized here, because we tutors have prepared a special training for you, to prepare you for the hallow academies you will be joining,"
Students started discussing between them and looked at each other with similar confused expressions.
'A special training to prepare for the hallow academy?' Langris thought.
He was standing next to Rayzen and Frisk, the boy from the exams, and Alea was a few students away from him.
"For many of you nobles, you might know the training called Batch," Reinar continued, "this training is mostly performed in academies, and helps the pupils improve their battle awareness and IQ,"
A few students' faces turned pale when they heard the word Batch because it was known to be rigorous training.
'Batch, simple to understand but hard training Lensa had told me about. It consists of collecting a required amount of Crystal cores in an area swarming with monsters. Crystal Cores are the main products travelers use to trade for money. However, these crystal cores can only be obtained by killing a monster. The stronger the monster is, the more valuable the crystal core will be. Luckily, in the Stable camp, the most common types of monsters are green spiders and Red blood wolves,'
"There is nothing to worry about," Ms. Morgana said to calm the students, "we have chosen a low-level camp for a reason, and you will be divided into groups of three, so you will not be doing an academic level Batch training,"
This, however, didn't appease the fear of the students who were already defeated by the simple fact of hearing they will be undergoing Batch training.
"We knew there would be a lot of fear amongst students," Mr. Maverick then said with a smile and his hands behind his back, "this is why we will only allow the students who want to participate in the training to enter. For the others, who are allowed to go back to their schools, you will not receive any punishment or bad mark,"
A collective sigh of relief was heard by most of the students who were scared of doing this training. The simple fact of having to face monsters was something that terrified them.
"Well then," Mr. Maverick continued, "for the students that wish to do this training stay where they are, and for the students who feel like it is too risky, raise their hands,"
To the tutor's surprise, nearly all of the students had raised their hands. Due to this, Reinar sighed and nodded his head while Ms. Morgana expressed her anger clearly.
"Bunch of fucking wimps," Ms. Morgana said with her arms crossed.
In the end, only a small amount of 7 students didn't raise their hands, including Langris, Rayzen, and Alea.
"Are you guys sure you wanna do this?" Frisk asked surprised that they didn't raise their hands, "Batch isn't a fucking joke you know, you are going to face actual terrifying monsters!"
The two youngsters simply ignored Frisk and continued looking in front of them. This annoyed Frisk a bit who turned his head the other way and whispered, "We'll see who gonna act so cool when you'll lose your two legs,"
"Well then, for the students who have raised their hands, please follow your tutors according to which temple you are enrolled in, they will bring you back to your classes, and for the students who wish to complete this training, follow me,"
Mr. Maverick then escorted the students along the concrete path where they could see what was in each shop stand and what the travelers were buying. There were potions, weapons, and fancy armor, but they had passed by all those shop stands and stopped in front of the gate with the two guards in front.
"Master Maverick, I suppose you are here for the Batch training," One of the guards exclaimed.
"Yes Indeed, would you mind opening this gate to let us out?"
The two guards went in a hallow pose before opening the gate and letting the students and Mr. Maverick out. As each student was passing by, the guards glared at them and giggled after.
'They must think we're not ready for this yet...' Langris thought looking behind him to see if they were still smiling.
The students were now in a dusty area with only Mr. Maverick facing them. They were expecting to see a forest beyond the gate, however, it seemed like they were in the middle of nowhere.
Suddenly, in a matter of seconds. a green spiral-shaped portal opened behind Mr. Maverick.
"Behind me is the portal to the location where you will be undergoing training," Mr. Maverick said with a firm tone, his legs spread and his hands behind his back, "before you enter, however, I will need you to make a team, however, there will be one team with 4 members, due to the fact that you are 7,"
"I don't think that would be fair sir,"
The person who said that was Lysanna, a purple-haired girl with dangled earrings, and a cold expression on her face.
"What do you mean?" Mr. Maverick asked her with a slight smirk.
"Having 4 members while the other team has three would give a better advantage to the other team, and therefore they will be able to kill monsters quicker and farm more crystal cores,"
Before answering her, Mr. Maverick lifted his head and burst into laughter. He then looked back at her with a smile showing his gold molar.
"And what do you want me to do about it, Ms. Lysanna?" He replied.
Without saying a word, she simply looked back at Mr. Maverick with a cold expression leaving a moment of silence.
"Does anyone have any oth~"
"If you think it's unfair, then I will go solo,"
